Chapter 4 - Getting To Know Each Other

495 Words
Renah woke up early to prepare for school. She cooked her breakfast as her parents were still asleep. As she waited for a jeep going to school, she saw the jeep she had ridden yesterday approaching. She quickly got into it and paid double the fare, as she hadn't paid yesterday. Renah came to school very early and decided that she would take a look at the other school facilities. She first visited the basketball court, then the gym. She then goes to the library and the canteen. She last visited the clinic, the faculty, and other classrooms. As she walks towards her seat, students get to know each other and some quickly become friends. The first class then started and Renah realized that she had forgotten her pen. Josh noticed it. "Forgot your pen?" he asks. "Ah, yeah, he-he," Renah replied. "Here, I have an extra one," Josh says to Renah as he reaches for his other pen. "Oh, thanks!" Renah responded. She also apologized to him yesterday for her attitude. "Btw, I'm sorry for my attitude yesterday towards you. I'm just not in the mood during that time," she says. "Don't mind, I understand that you had a bad day yesterday. It's also my mistake for asking such a question hehe." Josh replied. "You know what, I'll treat you later during our break. Deal?" Renah asked him. "Oh don't mind, you don't need to do such a thing," he responded. "Don't worry, It's ok for me and, perhaps, it's the only way I can make up," Renah replied. Josh, realizing that he doesn't have any choice, accepts it. During break time, they both went to the canteen and Renah bought some snacks and drinks for them both. They looked for a vacant table and they chitchat for a while. Renah asked Josh why he chose to study here at SLW. "So why did you choose to study here?" she asked. "Why? Is there any problem?" Josh replied. "Umm, nahh, I'm just curious," Renah responded. "Ah, well, SLW isn't my choice. I just luckily passed the exam." Josh said. "Ahhh, I see." Renah retorted. Josh also asked Renah the same question. "How about you? How did you end up here?' he asked. "Umm, I passed both entrance exams for two schools back then: Santo Lorenzo West and Silang Senior High School," Renah said. "I just chose to go here as I think it's better." "I also want to challenge myself, you know," she added. "You must be really smart. Passing both entrance exams for two top schools in the city isn't a joke," Josh said. "I don't really consider myself smart, but thanks for the compliment I guess," Renah replied. They both continued to chat and got to know each other. School finished a little bit late today and Renah went home immediately to cook dinner for her family. She then goes to sleep as she needs to prepare again for another day tomorrow.
