And what does the daredevil want this time?
I stepped out and closed the door behind me, he was looking casual as he has taken off his coats, and was left with a white shirt, he folded the sleeve up revealing some part of his strong arms, a part of my brain wanted him to hold me in those arms.
"what do you think you are doing?" he asked abruptly
I made a face "what do you mean?, doing what?"
he swallowed, finger's clenched, I can see he's having a difficulty voicing his next statement "why are you seducing my brother?"
I glared at him "damn you,... you were never good to me for once, and now that someone is you are brazen enough to say this to me, you are the worst" I pivoted on my heel making sure to shut the door in his face after I got in.
*WILLIAM'S POV*
I stood at her door for a while, a part of me wanted to apologise, but I couldn't bring myself to, it was bad enough that she is a regular cast in my dreams, now she had to go ahead and flirt with Arthur, I left for my room before anyone could see me hanging out at her door.
why did I have to confront her in the first place, I ran my hand through my hair, I know I'm loosing it, I can barely keep it together when she's around.
I paced my room, I know i shouldn't get as angry as this, or protective but I'm doing what is right for my family, I won't let a stranger come into our home and ruin everything.
though I sound foolish and out of it now, considering I put in a word for her with my father while we were at the Inn,though I was only thinking of her safety then, so I guess I didn't think straight.
I undid my buttons, the shirt feels too tight all of a sudden, i took the liberty of pouring myself a scotch, i strolled to my window staring into the night.
there was something about her, something that always have me so unsettled, I ran my hand over my face, maybe it's time to call it a day, though going to sleep doesn't mean i won't get to see her, if anything I'd only be seeing more of her, I'd see her in ways I don't even want my mind to wander to.
*ELIZA'S POV*
I stood by the window, some part of me feels hurt, while the other part is pretty confused, he isn't even good to me, never has, I don't understand why I still feel so disappointed at his remark.
I'm presently at a crossroad, he wants me to stay away from Arthur, and staying away from Arthur means being alone again for me, I have to choose between what he wants and what I want.
screw the Prince, I'm so sticking with Arthur, and oh, William hasn't even seen me flirt yet, he should wait and watch, I bet he won't be able to keep up, I'm done thinking about consequences or the aftermath of my actions, it's time to go overboard.
I woke up early the next morning, bathed and dressed up, I picked a wine dress the neck was cut in v, the waist down looked puffy, it's fit for a ball dress, but I picked it because its skintight at the top,it had long fitted sleeves too, I looked at my image in the mirror feeling contented.
I let my hair down to create that charming look, I was busy adding the finishing touches when Bella brought my tea, Bella is the petite woman that came to get me yesterday, I heard Ann address her yesterday.
"Good morning Bella"
"Morning ma'am" she set the tea tray atop the bedside table
"Your title, Miss or Mrs" I helped myself to a much needed cup of tea
"Bella is fine, the whole household address me as Bella" she ran her hands over her dress "you saw Lady Ann address me as just Bella yesterday"
"okay Bella, thanks for the tea tray, do you care for some?"
"that is so kind of you my lady, but I have to go now, the table will be set in five minutes" she turned to leave then stopped halfway to the door "you look stunning today"
I smiled behind my cup "thank you Bella"
I went to my window and pushed it open, giving way to fresh air to gush in, I closed my eyes leaning forward to enjoy the breeze on my face.
"Good morning my lady" I opened my eyes to find Arthur on the lawn smiling up at me, I returned his smile
"Good morning my lord"
Arthur pretended as if he was offended, I tried to conceal my laughter, but I couldn't even do that, Arthur is just too sweet
"and when will her highness join us at the dinning hall?"
"not today" I smiled.
"oh, we can't have that now can we?" I saw him gesture to someone coming towards him, the king emerged
"we do not starve visitor's in our home"
"Good morning your highness" I hope its not disrespectful greeting a king from somewhere above him, cause it sure feel weird now
"I'd be right down"
"I think we should have our breakfast on the lawn today, the weather is so nice, and also we can always put the lawn to good use after all " the king said
"that sounds like a plan father" Arthur moved close to his father who clapped him on the back
I made my way out of my room, I locked my door behind me, I turned to go down the hall when I bumped into someone, I was afraid I'd fall, but luckily I was held
I slightly opened my eyes, staring into the depth of two pairs of dark eyes, ah I pushed him away, and immediately gave him a little distance
"the least you could say is thank you" he muttered
I folded my hands beside me "and what if I don't want to?"
he scoffed at me "that won't be surprising" he smirked and passed beside me
but I made sure to counter him, it's starting to become a habit "but I would have thanked Arthur, I would have raised myself on my toes and whispered my appreciation to his ears for him alone to hear" I know I'm never going to do anything like that, but I'm so proud of myself right now seeing the way my words affect him
he wants to be grumpy and all, but I have to say he is coming late "and if he asks for me to do more than thank him...." he grabbed me by my arm forcefully yanking me against his chest
"don't you dare" his voice came out huskier than ever with his chest heaving
I faced him head on "dare do what?, you can't scare me easily" I jutted my chin out
he held my chin "you don't know what you are doing, and I've warned you to stay away from Arthur haven't I?"
it was my turn to smirk "the last time I checked, he is your older brother, he is the one who should be looking out for you, so what is the problem with you sir?"
he tightened his hand around my arm, and suddenly released it, he didn't wait to utter one more word before marching down the hallway.
I ran my hand over my hair, fixing my look, I'm sure I can't do anything about my racing heartbeat, I made my way down the hall and finally emerged onto the lawn
the lawn is widely spread, i might not be an expert but this should stretch into one acres or two, it was simply beautiful, more appealing when you are out on it.
"shall we?" Arthur offered his arm, I was a bit surprised that the servants has put our tables and chairs together just now.
"oh, it's okay.....I'm fine,I can make it to the table on my own" that was when I saw William coming out from the door behind me "you know what?, I'd take that offer" I took Arthur's arm and clunged to it
I glanced over my shoulder to look at William, he seemed furious, poor poor William, then she came, busted in from thin air, our prestigious lady Ann, who is so kind to the king and his family but not anyone else.
she hooked her arm through his "oh William, you could've have waited on me a bit, patience is a virtue you need to learn especially when you'd be getting married soon"
he screwed his face at her slightly "who is getting married to who?"
she waved her hand "you are no fun" then she giggles, the sound irks me.
but what does she mean getting married, it might be nothing but I'd make sure to ask Arthur,...that he managed to change the topic easily doesn't mean there isn't more to it.
it was evident on William's face that he wasn't enjoying the attention fan girl Ann was showering him with, for some sick reason that made me feel a little relieved but more importantly, it makes me laugh at lady Ann for how she was making a fool of herself.
they finally got to the table, then the queen, I'm starting to think the queen gets to the table late to make an entrance, we sat and had a feast and spent more time outside after the breakfast
the king was the first to leave, the little time I've known him, I've come to know him as a very busy man, shortly after the king left the Queen did the same, saying she was expecting a friend.
now it was down to me, Arthur, William and of course how can we forget lady Ann, I looked in William's direction, I was actually shocked to see him staring at me wickedly, what is going on in that head of his?.
"I was thinking of taking you into town today, I really want you to see everything with me, what do you say?" Arthur spoke from beside me
I looked back at William, he doesn't look too happy with the offer his brother just made, I smirked at him then turned to face Arthur and smiled widely at him, so much so my jaws hurt.
"I would love to, that would even mean some alone time for us" I fluttered my eyelashes, just as possessed lady Ann does.
"very well then, we would have to get you some outing kits, most importantly a cloak"
I nodded and smiled
"excuse me" William stood up rigidly and left for the mansion, lady Ann followed immediately
"I'd be heading in now, Arthur" she bowed her head slightly, if you were there you wouldn't have noticed it
she left her seat and strode fast trying to catch up with William, i came up with an idea immediately
"Arthur, would you excuse me I'd like to pick something from my chamber then join you for the outing" I was already running late here
"yes of course, I'd be waiting on you at the parlour"
I stood up and dashed in the direction they both went, I might turn up with nothing but it sure wouldn't hurt me to try.
