Chapter 1-The Extinction
A village is suddenly wiped out by a strange pollution, which has never occurred. The casualty was lethal, as this met everyone who lives in the village and environs. Little did they know that it was an evil god’s spell that was sucking the life out of them. They all died from the choking pollution in the environment.
No one was left alive to even investigate, why this m******e took place. Mr. Ekroff Host, a billionaire who owns multinational companies, sited his mining site, just by the village of Anakoz and had lost his wife about 15 years ago, during childbirth. She gave birth to a son, which he named Ipkis. He had grown since she died and Ekroff had lived a devastated life ever since. He would not rest until he found a way to bring his wife back to life.
He learned of this possibility from his wife’s family members, who told him a myth about their family and generations’ secrets that the girls from their family were gotten from a covenant with a god called Evra. She was the goddess of peace, before she was casted out the clan of the gods.
So Ekroff went on a research to verify how he could contact this goddess, to discuss the possibility of bringing his wife back to life. This he did for about 17 years, spending billions upon billions of dollars on research. This led him to open the mining company close to Anakoz, where he learnt of a portal which aligns to the passage way for Evra to visit the earth. Unknown to him, this will come at a huge price, which includes wiping out all the human lives around the environment where the portal is, to complete the ritual for her arrival and then turning the one who summons her into a werewolf. This was common in his wife’s genealogy thousands of years back.
On the day of the ritual, he passed out temporarily, on the arrival of Evra and woke up very hungry. He didn’t feel like eating just any food, but he lusted for raw human flesh. He made his way into town and began to tactically feed on the flesh of some humans. As he bit them on their wrists, tearing off their flesh, he turned them one after the other. These people healed after some time, from the flesh wounds. Ekroff became strategic about those he turned, they soon became a pack and all he turned became his minions. He was the father of them all.
Amongst them were district attorneys, lawyers, engineers and people in government, those who were his competitors in the business world. He soon became powerful beyond control. He had more than two third of the parliament, turned over time. He kept turning as much as he could, either for political reasons, selfish reasons or to feed.
Meanwhile, on the night of the beginning of this catastrophe, where humans were gradually becoming extinct as the world was becoming werewolf infested, there was a sudden brightness after the ritual in the village of Anakoz and from that brightness, Artemis, the Sun god walked out of the light. He found Joana, stone cold dead on the floor, she was only seventeen and she was the only one left from the village, whose body was either not consumed by the ritual from the mining premises, which disintegrated their bodies, pulling them altogether into the scary mouth of Evra or left a few behind to be eaten by the vultures.
Immediately, he touched her and some force of light moved through her body from him and for a while lifted her from the floor defying gravity, like she was levitating horizontally. Then she open her eyes and then he made her stand. Then she only saw huge light in folding into itself for a while and it disappeared. She was totally alive and ok and her memory was intact, but for happened a while. She didn’t know, that there was a transformation, until she decided to search round for everyone, when she suddenly noticed that she could move swiftly around the whole village from house to house within split seconds, with the speed of light.
(Joana) “What is happening? How come I can be this fast and move swiftly without getting tired and it’s just at the moment I thought about what I wanted to do”. She muttered this to herself, as she wondered why she would take a thought up and she is doing it already with the speed of light. All these felt strange to her and she couldn’t relate with this new change. After a while, she suddenly began to have scary flashes of what really transpired and how the village was wiped out.
It was such that whatever she wanted to know, it comes in flashed of visions, trances, flowing pictures which only her could see. She suddenly has the qualities of a clairvoyant, she took some time to master a bit of the art of tracking, using this gift, as she sat on a piece of tree, already cut down in the forest, in the bid of looking for her family and others. So it was time for her to follow up with the where about of her people, since the flashes kept giving her some clues, then it led her to the mining site.
The place was deserted and looked like where no one has been for a long time, but with the gift of clairvoyance, she was able to see everything, even tracking into the activities which led to the whole disaster, which wiped out everyone. She just knew that she woke up from something like a sleep, she was not thirsty or hungry or even had any lust for flesh like Ekroff, she knew there was a change, but couldn’t place hands on how it happened or why. On seeing the incident which led to the deaths of many, she was sad.
She began to wonder what desperation led to such an act. She saw Ekroff’s face for the first time and even saw the goddess Evra. It felt like Evra knew in that vision, that she was watching and screamed out in a strange language which sounded like Latin and a combination of what didn’t really convey any meaning here. She quickly came out of that vision, but kept having re-echoing of the experience, especially with the voice. It soon faded out from her after a while, but whoever truly heard Evra speak, would be turned to a werewolf, but because she was already turned and had not recognized it, Evra couldn’t turn her again.
Soon she made her way from that place devastated as she walked, not aware of where she was heading to, she had lived in Anakoz for the past seventeen years of her life, without ever tracing her way through such parts. The villagers were confined to just their farm and their homes and community lifestyle. They only noticed smokes from the mining site and never cared to go that way to see what it was, as long as it didn’t enter into their lands and wasn’t bringing them trouble. They believed in the sun god and worshipped it, for centuries up till the tragic incidence.
