I could feel the cool, damp air against my skin as we edged cautiously through the maze. The dim light of the moon barely penetrated the dense foliage, casting eerie shadows that seemed to dance and sway with our every step. "Here we are again," Lola sighed, her breath misting in the chilly air. "It feels like we've been walking in circles." "Maybe we have," I said, looking around at the familiar intersection.
