We stood near the exit, breaths heavy from running through the labyrinth. The air was thick with tension, and I could almost taste the fear.
Jennifer, whom we first met at the labyrinth's earlier, staggered towards us with wide, haunted eyes.
"Where's Lorie?" I asked, my voice trembling despite trying to be strong.
"Stabbed," Jennifer choked out. "A masked man... he stabbed her."
Dana burst into uncontrollable sobs, collapsing to her knees. "Elara's gone too," she wailed. "If I don't finish this Trial with her, I'll lose the memory of my boyfriend forever. And Elara…"
"Calm down, Dana," Lola said softly, crouching beside her. "We'll find them. We'll get out, and the wizards will heal them on Atlas’s order."
