Chapter 17

Third Person's POV "How about this?" Freya held up a lavender empire spaghetti strap dress with a wide smile on her face, convincing Trinette to agree on her choice. It's been thirty minutes since Freya looked for a dress for Trinette in an expensive shop for women's clothings but there's none of those reached Trinette's standard of clothing. Trinette blankly stared at at the dress that Freya is holding, trying her best not to twith her upper lip as a sign of disagreement. I don't like clothes revealing my arms. "I don't like these kind of dresses..." Trinette said, lowering her voice as she's finishing her sentence. She's already feeling shy about Freya choosing a dress for her for about thirty minutes and more but she can't really blame her when Trinette herself can't even choose a dress. Freya's convincing grin dropped, also the dress. She then stares at Trinette with lazy eyes. "What exactly do you waaaaant?" Freya asked, prolonging the last word with a hint of annoyance in her voice. Trinette slightly curved her lips into a small smile, slightly feeling guilty for the annoyance that she caused Freya. "Why don't you pick your own dress first?" she suggested. "You don't really need to buy me one, that's useless for me anyways—" Trinette stopped talking when she noticed Freya giving her a blank and lazy expression on her face. She's somewhat serious and she looks mad. Trinette gulped down her own saliva while looking at Freya, slightly intimidated by the aura she's currently emitting. Damn, she looks scary. "R-Right," Trinette immediately grabbed the dress from Freya. "Gosh! Right! How can this be useless when I can wear it?!" Trinette exclaimed with the obvious fake enthusiastic tone of her voice. Freya chuckled a bit while watching Trinette trying to convince her that she's okay with it. Along with her dropping all of the emotions in her face, "Really?" Freya asked while raising one of her eyebrows. Trinette curved her lips into a small awkward smile then nodded her head repeatedly. "Yes! Of course!" she said. "In fact—" Trinette got cut off with her own words when she extends both of her arms in opposite ways to look at the dress' whole look. Oh, this actually doesn't look so bad. Freya tilted her head while looking at Trinette as she noticed the sudden change of Trinette's fake expression to a real one. "This is actually nice," Trinette mumbled but it was loud enough for Freya to hear it. "I like it." She added. "Really?" Freya asked with a genuine smile on her face. "Yeah, it's not so bad." Trinette said, still eyeing on the dress. Freya squealed a bit. "Yayyy! I'll go pick one for myself, I'll pay for our dresses then let's take a picture after!" she said in a fast pace with a wide grin on her face. "You guys done?" both of them turn their heads at the direction where they heard the voice and saw Chris approaching them with Pain, both carrying a paperbag of what seems to be clothes. "Ohhh~ You guys done already? I haven't picked mine yet." Freya said while approaching them as well, specifically Chris. He blinked his eyes. "You still haven't picked one? But you've been here for more than thirty minutes." Chris said in a calm tone. Freya looked at Chris while raising her eyebrow. "Yeah, I haven't. Got a problem?" Freya asked with a bratty tone with her hands on her hips. Chris cleared his throat then shakes his head. "No, ma'am." He answered. "What did you guys bought anyways?" she asked as she took a peek from what's inside the bag. Chris opened it for her to see the variety of casual clothes he bought. "Did you put it in my card—" Freya stopped her words while looking up at Chris when he handed her card to her. "No. I used my own money for us both." He firmly answered as he pertains himself and Pain. Freya knits her eyebrows as she slowly puts her hands on her waist again. "And why?" she asked. "Because, ma'am—" "Freya." She corrected the way he address her. "Ma'am." Chris said, ignoring her correction. Freya raises one of eyebrows before rolling her eyes at him, accepting her defeat. Chris cleared his throat. "I didn't put the payments under your card because you've been spending too much money on people and rarely for yourself and I can buy things for myself and Mr. Pain." Chris explained as Freya took the credit card from him. She knits her eyebrows more as if Chris is talking nonsense. "So?" she asked with the tone of her voice full of brattiness. Chris shut his eyes momentarily then opens it again as he heaved a sigh, looking at Freya. "Your father gave you that credit card for you—" Freya cuts Chris off. "Exactly! He gave it to me so it's mine and I get to decide where I'll spend it. So you tell me how much the clothes you bought costs so that I can return your money because it was supposedly my treat." Freya said before Chris proceeds to disagree with her statement. Trinette watches Freya walks around the store looking for a dress while squabbling with Chris who's not in favor with Freya's constant spending of money for people. Trinette just shook her head with a soft chuckle. Her head then turns to Pain that is now standing stiffly like a robot right where Chris left him while holding the paperbag of his clothes. She stared at him. He is weird. Staring at him made Trinette remember everything in the rooftop. She did lost her consciousness since she hit her head on the ground but she's still certain that what she saw was real... or atleast that's what she believed. "Are you well, Trinette?" She blinked her eyes as she suddenly came back in her own thoughts upon Pain's question. "Uh, yeah." She answered. She cleared her throat. "W-What you got there?" Trinette asked as she momentarily pointed at the paperbag. Pain looked down on it then returned his gaze at her. "Clothes," he said. "That's what Chris told me." Trinette nodded. "Did you pick them yourself?" she asked. "No," he kept his eyes staring at Trinette as he speaks. "I don't know clothes." She knitted her eyebrow. "You haven't wore one ever since?" The question that came out from her own mouth made her remember the memory of Pain being naked back when she first met him in the rooftop popped. The image of his genital was the first thing that she thought. Trinette! You crazy piece of sh*t! "I believe so—" Trinette cut Pain off. "R-Right! Of course, you don't.." She stuttered as she felt her cheeks heating up. She blinked her eyes as she stares at Pain. Thirty to fifty seconds passed, their gazes are still locked with each other. As every seconds goes by, the heat on Trinette's cheeks kept on increasing as if a kettle on a stove. He has pretty eyes. She looked away after realizing that they've been staring with each other for a long time. Trinette clears her throat as she tries to compose herself. Pain kept on staring at Trinette as if she's the only thing he knew that existed and he must put all of his attention on her and only her. "Uhm," she glances back at Pain as she noticed he's still staring. Geez, can he stop? "T-The clothes in here are pretty," she looked away from his gaze but Pain kept his eyes fixated on her. "I-I should look around." She said, as if asking permission. Pain stared for quite a number of seconds before he nodded his head, keeping his blank expression on his face. "Hmm." Trinette smiled a bit before nodding her head back. She immediately, but not obviously, turn her back at him quickly and the moment she does it, it's like her cheeks have reached its limit. Pursing her lips, she walks away from Pain. Slowly bringing her hand up to her cheeks, touching it, feeling the heat that its emitting. Seriously, out of all things that I'll remember? That.. that thing???!? Trinette silently let out a soft and frustrating groan as she slapped her own forehead. "I must be crazy— AH!" Suddenly, a strong hit on the back of her head interrupted her. She shuts her eyes momentarily as she felt like her mind is currently inside an echo. The force kept on coming back to her and it gets worse everytime it does. She kept on feeling the pain of it physically. Her thoughts got shaken and her vision is unclear, everything is turning around as if she fell in a spiral hole. Trinette blinked her eyes multiple times, trying to gather all of her thoughts back to gain enough consciousness. Her eyebrows knitted as she felt someone pulling her out from the mall. "You little b*tch."
