“ Are you not curious as to why Diane betrayed you?” I could still remember Mira's words. It echoed in my head. “ Dave paid her off so he could appear as your savior the next day.”
The thing is what she said was very plausible. If it was a plan all along, it worked! I had loosen up a bit and brought down my walls foolishly for him.
At that moment, that was when Dave came to my side. It was as if the universe had brought the one person I was angry at to me. I tried not to look at him. I felt like if I did, my anger would increase. When he stopped me, I was forced to look up at him.
