Dave's POV ***Flashback*** Just when I thought Cassidy was a hidden gem locked up in my house for quite a long time and began to see her as such, I got a strange email. Attached to the mail was a picture of someone similar to my wife. The same long dark brown hair and amber eyes. She had a full glam makeup that consiisted of a thick mascara and blood red coloured lips. My eyes popped open when I recognised her as Cassidy, my wife and my supposed male best friend hanging out at a resort. I checked the metadata of the picture and it showed that the picture was taken a week ago. The same week she had told me she wanted to hangout with some friends, unknown to me that it was Nova, someone who we had not even settled the rift we had between us. Wandering thoughts of what could have possibly happened between them that night flashed in my head. I discarded the thought immediately but it seemed to stick to me like a memorised poem. I couldn't stand it. Why would she be hanging out with a man knowing fully well that she was now a married woman? Especially at a secluded resort and not even a public place. I shook my head. It was high time I let her go. It's bad enough that we got married to each other out of an arranged marriage, what I wouldn't let her do is spoil my name or have someone blackmail me for the rest of my life because my wife thought it was okay to publicly w***e around like a s*x starved b***h. I gritted in annoyance, flinging the phone from my hands to the shock of my coworkers that had been looking at me through my glass door ever since I gasped due to the recognition of Cassidy’s picture. Cassidy, the lady my mum orchestrated into my life. She was from a good background, they weren't as rich as we were but her parents were also among the elites in the country. I didn't really blame my mum, she just wanted me to be able to inherit my dad's properties before it was too late and getting married was the only way there was. I remembered meeting her for the first time. She was looking so naive but beautiful. Not my spec so I didn't spare her a second glance but she was decent enough to be paraded with as a wife. Little did I know who she really was. I should have known she only wanted me for my money. That's the only reasonable reason a woman will choose to settle down with a man that doesn't love her. Throughout these years, I had made it clear to her that we are only husband and wife as labels and not as a real deal and she seemed very comfortable with it. I was a fool. I should have known she was getting it from someone else and not just someone else - My own best friend! It hurt me the most that I had been blind to the signals and the possibility that they had been doing it right under my nose. I instructed my PA to reach out to my lawyer immediately for an urgent meeting and in the next one hour, we were already connected in a call. I told him to draft a divorce letter as soon as possible, ignoring his advice for me to be patient and try to sort things out with her first. He made it clear that there was no tangible evidence and she could use the opportunity to rip me off all my assets because of that but I couldn't care less. He wanted me to tolerate her for a while but I had refused bluntly. If she wanted to be a harlot, she should go ahead and do that in her father's house. My reputation will not be at stake! ***In the present*** “I don't want to see you in this house when I wake up tomorrow morning!” I yelled at her before walking into our room. “Take your things off this room and sleep at the guest house tonight!” I added before jamming the door shut. The look of pain she had on her face almost got me but I made sure to ignore it. There was no way that facade would work on me. I turned on the lights of the room to clean up and noticed her lingerie on the floor. It was in my best colour. It made me remember the night she tried to spice up our s*x life. How could she have betrayed me so soon?! I kicked off my shoes in annoyance and threw the lingerie into the bin before walking into the closet to remove my clothes and then to the bathroom to freshen up. By the time I was done, I noticed she had cleared her part of the closet and had kept the signed divorce papers on the bed together with a little note that said “I don't know what this is but here you go.” I noticed the part where she was supposed to fill out her claim was left empty. I didnt mind her having half of my properties or whatever it was she wanted, I just needed her out of my life. She probably wanted me to feel pity and accept her back but it wasn't going to happen. Was she kidding me? Did she think I wouldn't find out! Did she take me for a fool?! I took out my phone and emailed her disgusting pictures to her with a caption “There you go.” So that she could see that she wasn't sleek at all. If she had thought me for a fool, she was wrong. I immediately blacklisted all her contacts to ensure she could no longer reach me before climbing my bed to sleep. My phone chimed. I knew it couldn't be Cassidy because I had just blacklisted her contact. But who could be reaching out to me by this time of the night. I opened my phone and it was a text message from my ex, Mira. “I'm in town.”
