Cassidy's POV
At that moment, I was scared that Nova would hurt me but he looked away. This time, he directed his frustration on Chef Devon. Glaring at him, he said. “You need to learn how to mind your business around here.” He said it in a threateningly low voice that subtly warned Chef Devon that his life was in danger if he kept upsetting Nova.
“I think I'll excuse myself.” Chef Devon said, leaving me alone with Nova.
“You better do it.” Nova said before looking at me. Surprisingly, his gaze softened when it was on me. I thought he would be angry at me. Why was he looking at me with kind eyes? I wondered. Every body language from him was confusing. He didn't look hurt and he definitely wasn't acting like one.
“Can I show you to your room now or is it too early for that?” He asked
