Cassidy's POV
“After what happened last night, there's no way I'll let you go anywhere without at least half a dozen guards.” He said with a smile that had me flustered. I couldn't argue my way out of it. In fact, I should be glad he didn't use his famous ‘I told you so’ on me.
“That's ridiculous, Dave. I can't be walking about with more than the number of a football team.” I argued in vain. From the look on his face, it was clear that he wouldn't budge.
“Don't worry, love. They'll be working undercover. You won't even notice their presence until the need arises.” He assured me.
I relaxed in his arms. Strangely, his warmth and touch calmed me. I felt safe with him. That was the exact opposite of the way I felt with Nova. Just the thought of what he had attempted made me shiver.
