Dave's POV
Nova was bluffing. There was no way he could harm me or Cassidy. Ignoring what he said, I pulled Cassidy into my arms and hugged her. I had longed for her so much that the feeling of her in my arms calmed me down considerably. Strangely, I could feel her shiver. I pulled away from her as I was drenched. I didn't want to risk her catching a cold because of my recklessness. “Are you alright?” I asked her because she was still shivering. It took me a few seconds to realize, she wasn't shaking from the cold but from fear. Her encounter with that bastard must have traumatized her.
I turned to glare at Nova. “Look what you've done to her!” I yelled. I could feel rage creep into me, clouding my senses again. I launched forward to throw a punch at him but Mr Tresses stopped me.
