Lana "how can I wash this plate when there is no soap. argh". I mumbled, while putting dishes in a small basin. " Mom!, there's no any dishwashing liquid here" I shouted, while trying to find one. " there's one at the top of your head, right corner" she shouted back By the way, I am Lana and I have 1 sister and 3 brothers, and I am the eldest. My sister Lala is 10 years old and I am 12. My brothers, Leo is 8, Larry is 5, and our newborn baby Lewis just got born 1 week ago. My mother, Darlyn is a house wife while my father, Leonard is a farmer. We live in a small town in my grandparents house since my parents got married. According in a traditional way, the youngest son or daughter will be the one who will inherit the family house, and because my father is the youngest, he is the one who will have it. "Lana, make it faster I need you here to take care of your little baby brother" l heard my mom shout, interrupting my thoughts. " Almost finished" I replied After a minute of washing, now I'm looking at my baby brother on my lap trying not to wake him up. Lala is busy trying to help my mom cleaning the ground and fixing stuffs outside the house while my 3 brothers went to fetch fresh water to drink. My aunt, my father, older sister from the city will be coming this evening to visit us and my mom is trying to do general cleaning. Me and my siblings are quite happy for the sudden visit of our aunt because we can have a fish or meat for dinner. My parents cannot afford to buy fish or meat because they don't have work that provides salary. We can eat poultry meat when there is an occasion, like birthdays. Attending school without any pocket money, makes me envy my other classmates. I have snacks but I am too shy to show them and sometimes I need to hide at the back of our school building to eat. Today is Sunday and I'm quite happy because we have no class. I am excited for the gifts that my Aunt brings us a nd I'll show some to my classmates tomorrow. We only receive gift's when some relatives are coming home. "Lana, your aunt will be here in an one hour, you have to cook rice already and make sure we have hot water for coffee. Put down Lewis on the bed and let Larry look for it, just check them from time to time" My mom yelled from the outside "But mom there is no Larry here" I answered "What?, Lala have you seen your brother?" my mom asked Lala "Yes, they are playing there" she says, pointing at the road near our house. " I'll go get him" she added " okay, make it faster.. your father will be here in a minute and we need to finish this" mom said calmly to Lala "okay" Lala replied and happily went outside Meanwhile, my father comes home urging us to finish our task before my Aunt comes home.
