Countdown to the wedding and the wedding planner could feel the tension. Maya, a well-seasoned event planner, cannot afford to fold, and she'll give her very best shot.
Maya sat at her table, surrounded by wedding planning papers and her laptop with a glass of smoothie. Eve sat across, checking out decorations for the wedding and going through their list while sipping through her mug.
"Okay, so we've got the reception decorations, the catering, DJ, and... of course, the venue confirmed!" Eve confirmed, ticking all the items on their list.
Maya raised a brow "forgetting something?
"Nahhh, we've got everything covered. Just flight arrangements. We leave in two days!"
Maya sighed "two days... I know! I know! I've had alot on my table lately, and I'll have to work with last-minute tension".
Eve got up. "We've been up all night, and I'm beginning to feel sore."
"Where are you going honey?" Maya asked.
"I'm going to stretch and maybe get some air", Eve grinned, heading towards the balcony.
"Don't forget our flight to Paris!" Maya yelled.
Maya overworked herself and had been busy with her planning. She seemed to have forgotten about her worries and the stranger. Plus, she had stopped m**********g too.
With her head on the table, trying to get some sleep, she just remembered Billy. She still owes him a coffee hangout. She was still persistent about a nap.
Just then, a text message popped "Too soon for that coffee?"
Maya let out a dry smile. It was him.
Maya hesitated, unsure if she should meet up with Billy." Just in time for a nap", she thought.
"Nope still occupied." She texted back with a sad emoji. "I still owe you. I promise to hang out with you as soon as I get back". Maya shrugged as her fingers moved on her keyboard. She felt sad for Billy as she turned down his request. She got up and headed for the bedroom.
Eve had booked a flight to Paris, and they were set for travel. She packed her stuff and decided to get ready.
In 48 hours, they were on a plane heading to Paris. Maya sat beside her best friend, Eve, as they headed to France. Eve felt excited, Maya took an exhalation. She had been under so much pressure from the wedding planning and, of course, the previous incident that led to her pregnancy.
As they sipped their champagne and reviewed the wedding schedule, Eve seemed to have spotted a familiar face rows ahead.
"Oh my God, is that Eric?" gesturing him to come over.
"Eve!" Eric smiled, blowing a kiss.
"Awww.. my college sweetheart, so handsome and adorable." Eric came over and sat beside Eve. "Pleased to see you again. You still look hot and sexy." They both laughed.
"Ummm... meet Maya, my best friend. Maya, this is Eric." They both shook hands as Eve introduced them.
"What brings you to France?" Eric enquired.
"We're attending a wedding in Paris and Maya's the wedding planner." Eve replied.
"Howbout you?" Eric took off his glasses "I'm going to watch a football game in Paris."
They both spent the flight catching up, it's still obvious they still have chemistry. Maya felt lonely and bored as the duo seemed to have cut her out. She spent most of the journey thinking about the wedding.
They finally arrived France and they went to Paris. Eric decided to explore the city while Maya and Eve headed for the reception. They settled that night in a hotel and Maya felt exhausted already. "Good night Eve".
"Nighty-night honey" Eve yawned.
At the reception, Maya ensured everything was in place. And every detail, perfect.
Maya wore a black jumpsuit. Around her neck, she put on a silver necklace that added a touch of personality to her outfit.
Eve wore a fitted emerald green dress that exposed her boobs and a glittering pendant to match her beauty.
The party got started and it came alive with laughter, toasts and dancing. Everyone seemed so excited and the wedding seemed flawless. Maya was so happy her wedding plans were going smoothly.
With the help of her best friend, she ensured that every detail remained flawless.
The groom, Frederick was about 6 foot, dark brown and taper faded, athletic and a chiseled jawline. His bride, Emily was about thirty, long, curly locs, slender and curvy. She wore a stunning gown.
They were both happy as they danced. Emily, finally having her dream wedding.
As it struck midnight, her work was done. She felt at ease. She joined in the fun, singing and dancing at the reception.
She lost control in the joy of the celebration. The newly wed bride thanked Maya "Thanks for making my dream wedding come true." Emily whispered as she opened her arms for a hug. "You're welcome." she replied hugging her and her husband soon joined them.
"Je vous remercie" Frederick said, letting out his hand for his bride to follow him to the car.
"It was my pleasure" Maya smiled.
The car was a luxurious SUV decorated with ribbons and flowers. A shower of rose petals and confetti filled the air. Maya smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction as they waved goodbye.
Eve made her way to the bar. She found the event planner sipping a glass of wine and looking relieved. "You did it, baby girl!"
"We sure did!" Maya cheered!
"I'm glad it's over.I need a drink... or three!!" Eve screamed.
"Trust me, you'd never want to end up like me" Maya teased. The DJ was still spinning it hard, although the guests were dispersing. Maya and Eve both danced joyfully.
With the wedding officially over, Maya and Eve ensured a flawless finish. Their driver came to pick them up.
They couldn't stop talking about the wedding. in the car.
"Did you try the Spaghetti Bolognese?" Maya's eyes widened.
"Was it the Bouillabaisse or the Crème Brûlée or even the Ratatouille! That chef knew how to prepare mouthwatering recipes." Maya and Eve were lost in their conversation highlighting the wedding and their laughter echoed in the car.
"Êtes-vous nouvelles en France?" The driver asked.
Both maya and Eve glanced at each other in confusion. "Sorry, I don't understand.." Maya replied.
"Your first time here in France?" He asked again. "Yes, we came from New York for a wedding here in Paris." Eve spoke up.
"Cést un pays magnifique, you'll love it here" He smiled.
Just then, the sound of screeching tires and a crunching metal made Maya and Eve quiver. A truck careened out of control and headed straight for them. "Tenez bon! Tenez bon!" He said.
Their driver swerved expertly to avoid the collision. "Tout le monde va bien? Everyone... okay?"
"Oui, we're fine, Merci" Maya sighed.
Eve exhaled "That was close!"
The driver parked the car at a five-star hotel. Maya and Eve came down looking exasperated. "Au revoir!" The driver screamed as he drove off.
They made their way to their hotel rooms exhausted but exhilarated.
"Tonight has been crazy, France was worth it anyway." Eve shrugged.
