Johnny was waiting at the entrance to the apartment block, and they made their way to the Lakeside for a morning session ahead of the big ‘derby’ game on Saturday. The professional set-up at South Melbourne gave Jarrod a sense of belonging. He was given a full training kit, embroidered already with his initials, and slotted straight into training as he had done the previous day. After the session, quite a physical workout followed by a good session on set pieces, Jarrod was welcomed into Aurelio’s office.
