I didn’t move. Even after the vision ended, after the room came back into focus and after the silence settled around me again.
My body stayed exactly where it was, like if I shifted even slightly, something inside me would break in a way I wouldn’t be able to fix.
Serenya was still in front of me.
Watching.
Waiting.
Careful.
“Kaelira.”
I heard her.
But I didn’t respond. Because my head wasn’t here.
It was still there.
In that clearing.
In that moment everything turned into blood and screams.
My fingers curled slowly at my sides.
