I sighed as I looked in the mirror, looking at my long red dress while Ava, behind me, bent over to adjust my skirt.
"You know they don't pay you to sigh?" asked Ava without looking up in the slightest.
"It's not illegal to sigh," I said with a frown.
Ava chuckled and pulled herself up, then hugged me from behind and looked at me through the mirror with a smile on her face. Her green eyes sparkled brighter than usual, as well as her hair, which was softer and shinier, and her smell had become stronger with that sweet note that made her recognizable among thousands of people.
I smiled at her and placed my hands on hers, squeezing them lightly. "I wish I were there for your ceremony", I said, biting my bottom lip.
