Chapter Two

953 Words
Without a moment's hesitation, the Cravion moved at Kim; its massive claws slashed at the top of his head. Kim's survival instincts kicked in letting him fall to the ground, causing him to barely miss its claws by an inch. Because of the powerful force driving the Cravions forward, it passed the now sitting Kim by a significant margin. The moment that Kim noticed this he began to frantically crawl away from the creature. As he crawled he could hear the creature slowly picking itself back up and turn around searching for its prey. Once its eyes locked back onto Kim it prepared itself for another strike. Then like lightning, the creature shot forward claws snapping at the defenseless Kim. This time the Cravion didn’t miss; its claws landed right on its target taking one of Kim’s legs with him as he passed by. Anyone who was in a 100-foot vicinity could hear the snapping of Kim’s leg bones and the sound of his flesh being torn from his body. “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,” Kim screamed at the top of his lungs, the pain shooting from his now missing leg was so immense that no one on the face of the earth could explain it through mere words. As Kim screamed and blood gushed out from his now open leg, the creature ignored him and began its feast. Eating every last piece of the leg it had hunted; once it was done you couldn’t find even a shard of the leg bone left. Then like the predator, it was, its eyes darted right back to the still prone Kim Young. “I’m going to die, this will be the end of me. I haven’t even gotten laid yet, had a girlfriend, bought my sister the chicken she wanted before this whole accursed thing started,” Kim thought as the creature slowly began its way towards Kim no longer worrying about him escaping. “No I refuse for this to be the end, I can’t let my pathetic life end like this. Not at least until I have apologized to my sister for being such a coward!” As Kim thought this his eyes became clear as a pure lake without a single ripple. A fire could be seen in his eyes, a fire that was screaming out begging to live. It was during this moment that his life flashed across his eyes, a life that had no meaning, no reason for him to be given a second chance. In those brief monuments, Kim saw not only his family but a girl whom he once had a crush on, before she shot him down that is. She was standing on a stairwell reaching down towards Kim, the sunlight shining down upon her creating a halo around her head. Then like a light going off in the dark Kim’s mind snapped back to reality. “I swear if I get out of this situation alive I promise I will never live my life like a coward again! I will stand up for myself and make enough money that my sister never has to worry about anything ever again,” With Kims new found resolve to live burning in his eyes he began searching frantically for anything that he might be able to use as a weapon. Then out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a broken piece of rebar poking out from some building rubble. Quickly he reached over and with all the strength he could muster pulled it free from the already broken concrete in which it once resided in. Once it was firmly in his grasp he pointed it upwards at the creature who was still slowly approaching him. He knew that the chances of him being able to push the rebar into the Cravion as it launched at him were a billion to one. But he had to try, he had to live just a little longer so he could prove not only himself but also to everyone else that he wasn’t a coward. To prove that him living for these past five years just barely scrapping by weren’t a mistake. Then just as these thoughts passed through Kim’s mind, the creature began to take the same launch-type stance it had previously. It was more than likely going to go for the other leg, so even if Kim messed up he should still have one more try to kill the f*****g crab. That’s when Kim saw it, the creature lowered itself just a hair lower than it had already been and began its lightning-fast launch. Just before it began Kim pressed the rebar forward hoping, praying for a miracle. Then in just a split second after he pushed he saw the entire night sky looking down on him. His head was flying high into the sky but before it could even reach its peak, and before the night sky was the last thing Kim ever saw a system window appeared before him. “Secret Achievement Unlocked - The Weakest One; stand by for rewards:” Kim didn’t know what was going on but if you had somehow been able to see what was going on you would have noticed that time itself had stopped letting Kim stay alive in the few brief moments before his demise. “Rewards Calculated: Welcome Player 1,000,000,001; You will now reset, please make sure to avoid this outcome on your second attempt.” “Name: Kim Young; Level - 1; Class: Player; Player Count - 1,000,000,001; Exp - 0”
