Chapter Three Suzanne took in her work-in-progress MGB under a black tarp in the back parking lot of Harold’s condo. Living with Harold and selling her place had meant losing her garage, the only thing about her small old house that she’d liked. What she wouldn’t have given to be able to have a garage, to lift the hood and tinker, to check the fluid levels, to play around and get her hands dirty… “Ah, yeah, that happy place,” Suzanne said under her breath with wistful longing, remembering a feeling she hadn’t felt in a long time. She wondered whether Harold even understood the part of her that was now missing. She felt the bite of the cold as her breath fogged the air, and she slid her bare hands into her red down coat pockets as she stood next to Harold’s new Kia, fingering the keys. S
