Chapter Four Pulling up in front of his mom’s house, Owen could see who was there based on all the vehicles. It appeared to be everyone, including Tessa. He took in the familiar house he’d grown up in and knew like the back of his hand, and he took a second while climbing out of his plumbing van, feeling gritty and running his hand over his face, hearing the scrape of his whiskers. He likely should have stopped at home first and showered, but he probably wouldn’t have shown up then. There were days he was tired, but today it was cold that went through him.
