I thought I was ready to meet him that day. I thought I was gonna make it since I had the courage, but then everything turned into a mess. I couldn't have a simple conversation.
It's like we are always in between the lines, waiting for each other who's gonna talk first. Waiting for something to happen that ain't going to happen. Dumb! I already had a chance, but then I could not do it because I was chicken out.
I wish I had never seen him that day. I wish I hadn't gone to the coffee shop, I wish ---- it's too late to regret it. It happened already.
It broke my heart when I knew I had the chance, the chance to know his name and shake his hands.
The day after the incident, I met my team in the board room to conduct a 30-minute meeting in regards to the Levis commercial -- I want an update on it. How is it? They have handled it very well, they have already found a model.
We have a great concept and we are about to unleash it in the summertime. We think of doing it at an outdoor shoot--- like a beach or place that has a lot of trees.
At exactly 1 pm after the meeting finished, Sophia invited me to have a coffee. I nodded, since it was her treat, and aside from that she had something to tell me which I don't have any idea about, because Sophia is full of surprises.
Though I was kind of pissed off yesterday for hanging myself on the phone right away, at least she made a peace offering by buying a coffee.
As we headed off to the coffee shop, we took our orders. As usual, I had my cafe latte, and Sophia had her smoothie.
I grabbed Sophia's hands because I already saw a table where I wanted to sit. Sophia was all smiles when we sat. She started talking about a guy he met yesterday, and then the reason why she changed her number was that she just wanted no apparent reasons as to why. She only wants. What a crazy woman. I thought she was changing her number because she didn't want to be contacted by her ex-boyfriend, Jeremy.
Well, Jeremy Smith is a badass guy. He only thinks of himself. He can turn a woman into a slave, not a slave like typical slaves. It's something like he can make a woman madly in love with him. And when a woman falls in love with him, he'll take advantage of you, such as money, time, emotions, and most of all, your fragility. That is who he is, and I hated him for that, for being a user.
And I don't blame Sophia for being madly in love with him, even though I already discouraged her. I mean it's a blessing in disguise also, because if it didn't happen, Sophia would not learn from her mistakes, and she would continue to fall into its pit.
Now that she woke up from reality, she knew that she was done with him and she knew what she wanted and needed. I trust her for that because she is also a fighter like me.
An hour passed, and we decided to head back to the office because I still had things to finish and I needed to make a phone call. On our way to the parking lot, I saw an old friend of mine. We seldom see each other after we leave college.
Mike Echavez is one of the guys that I met when I was in college too. Although we don't talk too much when we are in the classroom, I consider him one of my friends.
He is indeed a must-talk-about person because he has this angelic look that captures the attention of each and every girl in our school. His smile melts every girl in the classroom. All of them want to be friends with him and they are jealous of me because I am one of his friends. We always sit beside each other even if someone is already sitting there. He doesn't care and he just drives the girl away.
Mike is a member of a football club. He was a varsity way back before when we were in college. He is a kind of reserved person, but nobody knows that. I mean a few of his friends knew it, including me.
Our friendship started when I was a freshman, and he was a second-year college dude who was popular in school. We bump into each other in the pantry like no one ever imagined it to happen, because honestly, I did not see it coming.
I got his T-Shirt wet when I suddenly bumped him, my soda was thrown in front of him and I was just silent for a few seconds, didn't know what to do because people were staring at us, waiting for something to happen. He just tapped me on the shoulder and said, "It's okay".
From that moment on, I know we will be friends, but not right away. You know what I mean. I met a lot of mean girls at school because of him, but he always protected me from them. He made sure that nothing was gonna happen to me. I don't know why we became so close. All I want is to become one of his friends, but not that close. You know what I mean.
