Allegra’s POV:
After the first impact of the news that my mother had given Nicholas, things sort of went back to normal, and in the following days there was not much excitement. Arlo was getting better every day and Dr. Clayton had already warned us that he would be leaving the clinic in a day or two, much to Joanna's dismay.
The momentary separation of the two made her suffer in anticipation, so she started to spend more time each day beside Arlo's stretcher. My grandmother accompanied her every day, purifying the hospital environment and teaching Dr. Clayton a little of her wisdom, a fact that he celebrated, for those being rare moments since the retirement of the older Madam Scott.
