Allegra’s POV:
I woke up in Nicholas’ arms after a while and it took me a few seconds to understand where I was. That was when I heard my dad’s voice: “It’s over, everybody.”
I jumped from Nicholas’ lap, without even looking behind and went as fast as I could towards the threshold my dad was and asked: “What happened, dad?”
My dad looked tired but seemed okay. As I could not see my mom behind him, I got instantly worried about her: “Is mom okay, dad? Please tell me what happened.” I sort of demanded of him.
I saw Nicholas getting closer and a few other coven members approached my dad as well. He looked at everyone and summed up the events as simply as he could: “We won, everybody. The threat was neutralized, and we only had a casualty, which went to the enemy’s side.” He barely finishe
