In a way, ending a day as bad as yesterday with a party brought me a boost that I had not seen in ages. If I mention how it affected Nicholas then, the boost was even bigger. We danced, we had fun, we played lots of different games and for one night at least we forgot about the problems that seemed to rain down on our heads lately.
It was still a joy to wake up late the next day and know it was a summer weekend. May was behind us and in the blink of an eye, it was June. There was a flurry in the air that was hidden in the colder months.
