Steam curled around me as I stepped out of the shower. I tucked the towel securely around myself and stood still for a moment, staring at the empty space in front of me. Today marked the third day since Leander left home for Eldercrest Hallow.
Yesterday had been uneventful. In fact, I'd say the last two days had blurred together into the same dull rhythm—me drifting from task to task, doing whatever I could just to pass the time.
Today didn’t feel much different either. And yet, it was.
Because tonight, Leander was finally returning home.
