KAIA'S POV Leander was walking too fast, and by the time I finally caught up with him, we were already far from Athena’s cottage. My heart pounded in my chest, my breath coming out in short, uneven puffs as I called his name again, louder this time, hoping he’d hear me. “Leander!” He paused mid-step and turned around slowly. “Kaia,” he said quietly, his eyes meeting mine as he walked back to meet me halfway, and I glared at him. “What the hell, Leander?!? I’ve been calling you for over fifteen minutes,” I said, still trying to catch my breath.
