THIRD POV A loud growl tore through the air, penetrating Alpha Gareth's sleep. His ear perked up as he shifted in his bed. The sound came again, low and resonant, almost as if it were coming from every corner of the room. This time, it dragged Alpha Gareth completely out of sleep like a hand yanking him from a dream. His eyes opened to darkness and the moonlight spilling in from the half-drawn curtains. He lay still, his muscles coiled as he listened. Alpha Gareth frowned in confusion. What was that? he thought.
