A few months go by and I felt okay. That afternoon I came home after deciding the step I will make. I sit down and grab my notepad. ‘I think I don’t need the therapist anymore’ I write down and show it to Victoria, she smiles at me, and Brian who reads it with her does the same. “All right. Just talk to her, and see what she says all right?” Brian says and I nod. The next day I had my appointment and let her know what I thought. She smiled brightly and told me she was waiting for me to mention it, she had deemed me ready to leave weeks ago. she was already making a plan to bring the news to me in a few weeks if I hadn’t said anything. I smiled at her and we said goodbye, her telling me she never wanted to see me again with a hard stare, I chuckled and nodded. Julia and I have grown very close. Another few months pass and I have been here for a year now, and I felt content with my life. My wolf was a little restless though, I didn’t let her out as much anymore of course. Saturday’s were her days to run out and about though. “Hey, there is a party next week. Want to go?” Julia asks me at lunch. ‘what kind of party?’ I write down and show it to her “just a party at Brian’s. he has this big vacation home and once in a while his parents allow him to throw a party. Music, booze, and hot guys” she says and wiggles her eyebrows. I chuckle ‘fine’ I write and show it to her “NICE, we’re going shopping tomorrow” she says matter of fact and I nod with a smile. I get home and walk over to Victoria hugging her. I grab my notepad ‘there is a party next week, Julia wants me to go shopping for it’ I write and show it “sure, let me grab some money honey” she says and I nod. She comes back and hands me 200 dollars ‘this is too much’ I write and then frown at her. She waves at me “you never ask for something, enjoy” she says and smiles. I shake my head and put it in my wallet. I go upstairs and do my homework. The next day Julia dragged me to the mall. She stopped at a shop “That is your dress” she says and storms inside. I grab my notepad ‘I don’t do dresses, find me nice pants and a shirt or something’ I write down and show it to her with a raised eyebrow showing her I will not let her persuade me. “Aaagh, fine! But look at it” she says. I look at it and sure it’s beautiful, ‘sure it is gorgeous. I am still not wearing it’ I write down and show it to her with a smile. She pouts and we go out of the store which only has dresses. She finds me some comfortable black leather pants, a green shirt with a V-neckline giving me a little cleavage, and a black jacket on top of it. ‘NICE’ I write with capitals and give her a beaming smile she nods in approval. She chuckles “Glad, you like it,” she says. We shop and wander around for a bit longer before we both go home.

On the day off the party, the bell rings and I go to open the door. Julia stands there and I frown at her “Hi, I am here to do your hair and make-up!” she beams. I sigh and step aside for her to enter. She drags a bag inside with her and I groan. She chuckles but she positions me at the kitchen table and starts doing my hair in curls, binding some locks behind my head so it doesn’t constantly fall into my face. She puts some light rouge on my cheeks “you don’t even need foundation, your skin is perfection” she says with a frown but smiles as well. She gives me Smokey eyes and some green powder on my eyelids to match my shirt. “Perfect,” she says and starts applying mascara. When she is done she nods and holds out a mirror “What do you think?” ‘Holy s**t, my eyes’ I think “nice right?” she asks and I nod “Go get dressed while I do my make-up and hair” she tells me and shoos me away. I chuckle and go upstairs, I put on the clothes and add some pumps underneath it we bought the same day. I walk downstairs “oh, my. My girl is all dressed up” Victoria beams and hugs me. She grabs her phone and snaps a picture. She shows it to me and my eyes widen. I seem to almost glow, the scar stands out and makes me look badass in combination with the clothes and make-up. The scars run from my ear to the front of my chest, stopping just above my breasts. Julia walks to the stairs “Badass” she says and walks to my room to change, I chuckle and smile after her so does Victoria. Half an hour later Derek drops us off at the house “Be careful girls. Text me when you want me to pick you up all right?” he says and I nod “yes, sir. Thank you” Julia says. We get out and everyone looks at me. Some of the hot guys' mouths are hanging open “Careful guys, you’re catching flies” Julia winks at them and grabs my hand, we walk inside and grab a drink. We go to the dancefloor and start dancing. Some guys dance behind us and the evening is fun and full of jokes. Suddenly we hear some girls screech outside and I raise an eyebrow “Some guys from out of town are going to come by. They’re probably here” Julia says and rolls her eyes. I shrug and continue dancing, suddenly the most delicious scent hits my nose. I look around to see where it is coming from and when I turn around silver eyes are staring at me. And for a second I am back at my old school,

He has aged nicely. He pushes the people out of the way coming to me ‘MATE’ Acalia screams in my head, making me flinch slightly. Jackson pulls me out of my staring contest and pulls me over to dance with me. A low growl is heard and it comes from Derek, when I look around I see that no one heard it. I don’t know what it is, but Jackson’s touch suddenly grosses me out and I break free from him and start walking to him. His eyes widen in wonder, roving over my body and it is giving me tingles. I stop in front of him but he grabs me and pulls me into his chest wrapping his arms around me nuzzling my neck and I stiffen lightly, “Alpha! She is… oh” I hear someone say. Tingles explode over my body and I don’t know what to do, it’s been two years since I’ve seen him, the first time someone touches me in this way other than Victoria and Brian. He is even more handsome than before, his scent is addicting. I wrap my arms around his neck without realizing ‘mate’ Acalia says again. ‘What do you mean?’ I ask her. ‘he is our soulmate, we werewolves have soulmates’ she explains ‘and he is ours?’ I ask ‘yes, and we are his’ she says. I push him away a bit he doesn’t let me go but he does look in my eyes, his eyes are glowing bright. My arms are still around his neck and I hear Acalia whisper through my mouth “Mate” comes out of it. I am stunned I let go and touch my throat and try to speak, nothing comes out and I frown. I try again “Derek” comes out rough. Julia gasps behind me “You’re talking!” she yells. I look over and try again but nothing comes out again. I look at Derek who is just smiling brightly. “And to believe that your first words are ‘mate’ nonetheless,” she says and jumps up and down. “Come on, too many ears,” he says lowly. Julia, I, and Derek’s group walk outside to the backyard where it is much quieter. “Where did you disappear to?” he asks. I try to speak but nothing comes out and I growl lowly, in frustration. Julia comes to the rescue and hands me my notepad and pen I had stashed in her handbag. I start writing angrily ‘HOW THE f**k DID YOU FIND ME?’ I write down with capitals and show it to him while glaring at him. His guys look as well and they start laughing “I didn’t. it’s just a coincidence. I have been looking for you ever since you disappeared. But you’re human? How can you know I’m your mate?” he asks with a frown marring his face, more saying his thoughts out loud. “No, she’s not,” Julia says. Derek and my head snap to her “In the beginning, I thought so as well. But suddenly a few weeks after we became friends I started to smell it a little, the smell grew over time.” She says and shrugs. ‘you know?’ I write and show it and she nods ‘why did you never say anything and smell? You are like me?’ I write and show it. “Yes, I’m like you. They are as well.” She says pointing to the guys “as for why I never said anything, neither did you so I just let it go” she says and shrugs. I frown ‘I can’t tell the difference’ I show it to her and her eyes widen “Seriously?” she asks and I nod. “Wow, uh okay,” she says then looks at the guys “She can’t tell the difference,” she tells them and they frown. I look at them ‘let me’ Acalia says and suddenly I am pushed to the back of my mind.

I have no control of my body, it is like giving her control in wolf form but this time my human body. She walks over to Derek and purrs he frowns and when he meets my eyes his eyes widen. She wraps my arms around his neck “Hi, hotty” comes out of my sore throat. Derek chuckles “nice to meet you mate,” he says with a smirk and caresses my cheek. The other guys start laughing “what is going on?” Julia asks. “her wolf is coming forward,” he tells her and she stands beside Derek to look at me “cool,” she says and smirks. "thanks,” Acalia says and then turns her gaze back to Derek. “You will protect me right?” she asks. “always,” he says and smiles sweetly. She lets go of his neck grabs his hand and drags him into the woods. Everyone follows us ‘normally I wouldn’t care but for you, I will undress behind a f*****g tree’ she tells me ‘thanks, what are you doing?’ I ask her. ‘showing them we are the last phoenix wolf’ she explains ‘a what?’ I ask. ‘it will come later. Hold on’ she says. “Wait,” she says to him and Derek stops with the rest of them and she walks behind the tree. She undresses and the bones start to c***k. She walks from the tree and sits proudly in front of them. They frown and then they widen their eyes “no way” they whisper “a phoenix wolf” Julia whispers. Derek steps forward and kneels, he rubs her behind her ear and she purrs “Always” he says more firmly. She leans into his hand and looks deep into his eyes. He smiles at her and she licks his hand and then walks behind the tree again to turn back, then she gets dressed. Still not giving control back. “What I don’t understand, why is her throat never healed?” Julia asks “Wound was too deep to heal properly. I am gathering strength to heal her, if she was not a phoenix wolf she would not have survived that night” Acalia explains. “Her throat will heal. I am healing it now as we speak. Mate helps” she says and he smiles at us. ‘ask him. If he knew back then’ I tell her. “Ana asks if you knew back then” she repeats my question. “Yes” he answers, Acalia walks over to him “In that case. I am sorry for taking us away from you,” she says and he frowns “What happened?” he asks. “She is not ready to tell you. I am but she will not be comfortable with it” Acalia answers and I sigh out in relief. “all right” he says and kisses my forehead, Acalia purrs and slowly slips back into my head. I stiffen in his arms “And she is back” he says and chuckles. I blush hard and he caresses my cheek while smiling. “You need to rest, your throat will be healed by tomorrow. It helps if I stay close” he says and I nod while writing ‘anything to get my voice back’ I show them and he nods. “Let’s go,” he says I take my phone and text, Brian, my guardian. ‘someone is taking us back to Julia’s. I’ll be staying with her. Go to bed’ I type and hit send. ‘all right. Hope you had fun’ he answers ‘I did. good night’ I send back and hand my phone back to her. Derek wraps his arm around my shoulder and leads me to the car. We all get in, Derek glued to my side and I am enjoying the tingles that are exploding on my body from where he is touching me. We reach a big house and get out. He leads me to a room “We’ll stay here tonight. Don’t worry I won’t do anything” he says and smiles. I nod and sit on the bed, he goes to a drawer and grabs a shirt and some shorts “Here, you can wear this. The bathroom is through that door there” he says while pointing to a door. I nod and walk into the bathroom. I change and remove the make-up from my face. I walk back into the room and his eyes brighten in color again when he sees me. I smile at him and crawl under the covers. He crawls in and wraps his arms around me pulling me close against him. “You know, I can’t wait until you can talk. Can’t wait to hear the beautiful voice of my gorgeous mate. It’s sort of annoying that you can’t just say what you think” he whispers in my ear. I chuckle and nod “you know, you have changed a lot since the last time I saw you, there is a certain glow about you now. There is light in your eyes that wasn’t there before, I like it,” he says. I nuzzle my face in his chest and he sighs in contentment “I went crazy when you didn’t turn up for school. And that lasted and lasted and when I finally decided I had enough and went looking for you.. you were nowhere to be found. I went a little crazy, finding you and then you slipped away between my fingers just like that” he says, I rub his back in response and he nuzzles his face in my neck. Not long after my eyes start drooping and I give in to the darkness.
