After that conversation with the man I was shocked since he told me that most people who were with us had actually borrowed clothes or had brought those clothes when they heard they had an interview with this company
To be honest I didn't know a lot about the company all I knew was that I was focused on my career not some company
It was finally my time to actually get into the interview room and as expected I found five people sitting at a high end mahogany table the room was spacious and was luxuriously decorated
There was a crystal chandelier at the middle with floor to ceiling french Windows
" Good afternoon everyone" I said with a cheerful voice and smile
They looked at me and answered in unison. It was as though I had done some crime in greeting them .One gesture for me to have a sit.
I came out of that room in deep thought i could not believe it. But what shocked me was the fact that the young lady by the name Luna Mars was the head of the recruitment committee
I had passed the interview from the word go and I just sat there asking me silly questions that didn't have a meaning
" What was the name of your best friend" I was beyond shocked who on earth asks such a question on an interview
Funny thing I answered with enthusiasm and just did not give a thought to it.
Then after playing with me for a while there came the shock that I have never received in my life
They actually told me they were playing with me and that I was long accepted and it was their plan to ensure that I was the last to see if my patience was at its peak
If I was to be asked then I would have just buried all those guys in the room
For goodness sake why should you ask such questions about someone and play with someones emotions
But at least by the end of the day I got the job and my days of being poor were actually coming to an end
I was not like every other person I was determined that my salary i would be investing it on other things
I had planned to start a restaurant that would earn me passive income and would help me gain more money to get financial freedom
" hey Crystal wait up " I heard a feminine voice call me from behind
I looked back and guess who I saw. Non other than Luna
" I know you are mad at me for what those guys and I did to you in the room back and I apologize" She told me apologetically
" Let me treat you out for some clothes shopping because you can't come to this office looking like that tomorrow "
I readily accepted because I new I had to have some good clothes for work
While we were walking she took me to her car which was a classic BMW and if I was not wrong it would be the latest series
While we were in the car she explained to me what working in the company would entail
She also explained some of the benefits that one would get once working for the company
She also told me that I could get my own car but I would pay it for a years length
If i got fired before the first year ends the company would remain with the car
She also told me if I wanted I could also apply for a house and pay it for around two years
She told me that when she started to work for the company five years ago she had nothing and now she owned a two bedroom apartment and this car she has
She also told me that she has her own beauty salon and a boutique which we were going to visit
She inspired me to get the same. I could feel the success this woman was enjoying and the fact that she also knew my mother language
Actually she went ahead and told me that we came from the same city but she was from a neighbouring village
I was shocked How could it be
She also shocked me further by telling me that she had moved her parents from that place and they were now living in a high end estate
All this things she was telling me were words that encouraged me i could see the light and I got a best friend who i could tell my struggles and get help
We arrived at her clothing store and she helped me get some clothes as we chatted but to be true the clothes were expensive and I told her that
She told me her store actually sold cheap clothes which were new. She went on to tell me that some of the clothes I was taking go for ten times the same price as the one I was seeing
To be truthful I could not talk I just wondered why would someone waste that kind of money and not just invest it
As tough reading my mind she explained and said that this people were extremely wealthy and some millions could not hurt their pockets
I just started to envy them how could life be so unfair
" Girl life is never fair it is up to you to know what to do with it "
I think those were the best words that anybody ever told me
As she was driving me back to my apartment I explained to her that I wanted to start my own restaurant
She told me to persue it and not to let it go down
I arrived at my apartment but she refused to come up saying that she had some very important business to do and that she could come in when she was free
That night i ponded with her words as I waited for my first day officially in the company
