I could constantly feel a pair of eyes watching me. It was creeping me out and I did not like it at all.
Those particular eyes belonged to Joanna Zane. She would look at me with hostility that i would wonder how come that she hates me and I did not do anything to her.
Where on earth did i ever wrong her to begin with. She kept on looking at me and I couldn't even understand why.
She was getting on my nerves and I did not like being stared at. I looked up and she did not back down it was as though she wanted us to go on a staring competition. I saw it as petty and that was for children staff not for grown ups.
I just chose to ignore her petty competitions. Plus i had my own piece of problems to deal with than just get entangled with some woman who i don't know.
The task that I was given was pretty easy to me since while I was studying I used to do some online work on the same so getting to finish the task was very easy.
It only took me an hour to finish and submit my work.
When I thought that it was over I received another assignment.
But something i came to understand is that once the assignment was reviewed you got coins which i came to later know that were supposed to help you get promotions once you had reached the target
That was very good because one would know where they wanted to reach and make plans. But the salary was kept a secret.
It was already time for tea and I was about to finish my assignment.
Luna came to the office and everyone was shocked to see her there.
" Oooh come on let's go grab some tea " she told me with a smile on the face.
"Just wait a moment i want to finish this and submit it. " I told her
She was very patient and waited until I could have finished it. I submitted the paperwork and closed my computer.
She grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the office and we took the elevator to the cafe on the ground floor of the building.
" How was your first assignment? " she asked me. I could truly see that she cared about me .
This gesture softened my heart towards her.
" It was very easy actually I have finished two assignments after this i will be doing my third assignment" I responded with enthusiasm
" wow that is very good but I must warn you as you continue to climb the more difficult it will be for you " She said looking at me seriously
I knew she was right and I could not stop it but I needed a promotion by the end of the month and nothing was going to stop me
"But I can see you have talent and determination which will help you a lot in handling your work " she added after she saw i was lost in thought
" By the way I wanted to enjoy the benefits of the company how am I supposed to request for an apartment? "
This was what I had wanted to ask her since morning and since I had time with her why not ask?
" While you see you must have an Idea of which kind of apartment you want is it luxurious or moderate also how many bedrooms you want, where should it be located and the floor you want "
We opened the door to the cafe and we sat at an empty table just near the window somebody came and took our orders.
" If I may ask you can you give me advice on which apartment to pick ?"
I was confused on what to pick.
" I think you should pick a two bedroom apartment, don't worry about the location we are going to look at them after work I will arrange it for you with the company " she told
" Thanks " I was at a lose of words I did not know why she was so friendly to me.
Was it because we came from neighbouring villages?
" Can I ask you the last question? " i asked out of curiosity and a burning desire to know why would someone be so friendly to a stranger.
She looked at me with an expression that sent shivers down my spine. But it vanished as though it had never
happened.
" While you see you just captivated my heart and I knew you needed mentor who was going to teach you how to survive "
I was bewildered with the revelation and I could not believe it. She wanted to be my coach in life
" And plus from the word go I saw talent in you and I could not just let you go by like that i could live with guilt all my life" she said honestly I was touched with her words.
It was time to get back and I went to my sit to finish up my new work. This one was a bit tricky but I was abled to finish it before lunch break
I didn't see Luna maybe she chose to eat her food back at the office.
I just went and took my food and sat on a table just beside the window looking at the scenery of the town
My phone rang and I saw that it was my parents.
A smile appeared on my lips
I had missed them
" Hello mom dad"
" Hello honey how are you? are things good over there? are you eating? " there came my dad's concerned voice
" Cutie ensure that you eat please? I don't want you to become sick " my mom added
" Am alright and by the way I just wanted to tell you I got a job at a company. It pays very well and I will be able to help you come out of that place I am going to get you your own house in a good neighbourhood" I told them.
" Okay cutie when will you video call us? " she asked I knew she had missed me a lot
" If i get time probably tonight mom yes tonight " I answered I had missed to talk to them
Crystal failed to notice some pair of deep cold eyes staring at her with a serious expression
