The next morning, Veronica did not see Douglas in her bed, and neither did she see him around the house. He had disappeared, taking with him the slightest hope that Veronica had. Waking up and seeing the marks of love on her body and on the sheet devastated her. How could she react that way towards a man who saw her only as a material value. She could not understand herself. Whenever he came near her, something would push her towards him in such a way that she couldn"t escape until she was totally surrendered.
