Chapter 1: Beaten
I heard strange noises emitting from my living room, I already knew what was happening, they were at it again, I felt more miserable trying to squeeze myself out of the net, it was torn and I was quite fat so moving out of the net was one heck of a big deal. I went to where the noise seemed to be coming from and boom!!! They were at it again, playing. I called it playing because I normally saw my neighbour's children act that way and whenever they got caught, they'll say they were only playing, don't blame me, I was just 2. I could still hear them exchanging words, mum said she wanted a divorce but the man kept insisting she remained in the marriage. The baby began to cry but mum being so engrossed in her fight with her husband, couldn't hear her baby's cry. I went over to where my little sister was, she was in her room, she cried as a result of the way she was laid, I guess she was thrown on the bad, the position she was left in could make an adult shed soft tears, her neck being on the bed but her lower body stood straight on the wall, Goooosh!!!!! It was a very bad sight, no other person could have done that if not my dad. Being a higher-class baby, I went to her, held her soft hands and then smiled at her, I was just 2, you don't expect me to know what to do at that time, she kept on crying but I patted her. I really don't know how it happened but she fell flat on the bed then I patted her, finally, she stopped crying. I went to the living room, I saw my mum on the floor looking hopeless, she was bleeding, my dad wasn't there, I'm sure he left the house, all I could remember was mum telling me to go and play. Some years finally passed, I was 15 now, and things became clearer, I became more exposed to life I guess...I could differentiate good from bad. I was in school, high school, my dad never made this possible, mum made all the efforts, I wasn't quite sure if the cash was legit, but I didn't seem to care. I got back from school and sighted my dad on the couch, reading a magazine. My heart slipped when I saw this sinful image. I hated seeing this man, he was a hot pin in the ass. My dad was the exact definition of trouble In the full course, one could sense trouble hovering around him at first sight, he was my dad, so I couldn't change that. " Good afternoon sir!!!... I hurriedly said biting my lips in fear. He gave me that look, like he was going to pounce on me for greeting him, and me???? Not wasting no time trying to commit suicide, I left for our room. I called it our room because I had 3 other siblings excluding Lily. The only thing I could assume my dad did right, was to give us good names, I was Vanessa she was lily, there's a Davis, a Travis and the last, Trevor. The names were cool though but they were of no use. Mum got back home, we "her kids" welcomed her, the man came in, dragged her by her hair and asked. "Why didn't you leave any food in this house before stepping out???...are you mad or something???
