Prologue
Kathy was spiralling. Nothing was ok with what was happening because this wasn't part of the plan.
This would in fact ruin the carefully laid out plan for her future which to sum it up was to get out. Getting out did not involve marrying someone.
“Katarina make sure you are prepared in time to leave.” her brother Vuk said while entering her room. She looked at him like he had grown an extra head and didn't know whether to hit him or scream at him.
“You really walk in here like you have the right after not even giving me a warning.” she looked up at him waiting for a reply. “It would have changed nothing, only caused you distress for a longer time.”he said pointedly. “You have no right to keep something so life changing from me.”she spat at him. He simply stared at her without giving her a reply.
“Was it always supposed to be like this? Was I always meant to marry someone that I haven't even met before in order to seal the deal like some priced mare!”Kathy asked, eyes clearly livid.
Her brother looked at her now with eyes full of pity but only said “Make sure you are packed and ready in time for the plane.” He then turned and left the room. Katarina knew it then that she hated all the males in her family, her father the worst of them all but she always thought her brother was different.
As she opened her suicases and started throwing random things in it haphazardly, she had only one thought in mind.
She would do anything to escape this fate laid out for her.
