Chapter 7

(Cassandra P.O.V)

*Alarm is buzzing* Ugh, what a night… Alex wake up, we got to get the day started before Lilith wakes up. Suddenly I get a mind link from mother “she’s still asleep, lets get to work!” Holy s**t, Lilith slept in?! I get up and head to the restroom to prepare for the day. Everyone in the pack had help prepare and decorate for Lilith’s birthday. Some even went the extra mile to decorate throughout the day while she was asleep and overnight to ensure everything looked right.

A masquerade ball, ever since we were little, she loved the idea of balls, gowns, and synchronized dancing. There is a guest list, but Lilith made it an open-door event if you are in theme. She has always been extremely compassionate, I thought to myself turning the shower on and getting in.  I will never forget the first time she truly showed me that part of her. After my grandma passed away when we were kids, she walked straight up to me and asked me to move in the pack house with her. She did not even ask her parents, but they did not object.

Ever since then, we were inseparable, her parents treated me like one of their own pups and paid for my college education. Then the moon goddess paired me with Alexander… maybe lily knew, or it was truly the Moon Goddess working in her mysterious ways, I close my eyes and pray. Moon Goddess, I am honored and grateful for everything you have done for our pack and family. Please protect us tonight, especially Lilith and Alistair. They are finally together after all this time, please grant them your wisdom and strength! I feel tears in my eyes as I hold my belly with the future Alpha growing within me.

After I finished showering, I see Alexander is still sleeping so I go to wake him, and he mumbles under me his breath for more time. Fine, I pull the blankets completely off the bed exposing him to the cold air and he jumps up like a baby and whines. Alex, Lilith is still asleep which is a miracle, we need to finish up the décor and get everything settled I say smiling. “Lilith is still sleeping?! Wow, they must have had one hell of a night.” Ewww, Alex. Please get ready and meet me downstairs, I am not having this conversation with you about your sister, I say chuckling as he makes a disgusted look on his face from bringing it up.

As I head downstairs, I notice that everything is pretty much done. I ask one of the omegas and they said they woke up before dawn to beat the early bird and we start laughing. Well than, shall we plan breakfast? I head into the kitchen and the omegas and gammas are all pitching their ideas. “May I ask that you make her favorite breakfast?” I look back and it is Alistair smiling, hoping to hear a yes. I think that is a wonderful idea, let us get to work ladies!

Alistair, will you come with me please? “Yes, Luna!” We head to my office and we sit down, I wanted to know if you have anything to wear tonight? “Yes, I do; thank you Luna. I do not have a mask though; would you be able to help me with that?” I chuckle at his politeness and pull out a box, these are some masks we have left over, I smile at him. “I hope I do not offend you Luna, but would you kindly tell me what Lilith will be wearing? I will have Bella make the mask to match hers.” That is a wonderful idea, I pull out her pictures of her mask and dress and Alistair smiles, “may I take these to Bella?”. Please do, I see him stand to leave and I stop him. Alistair, I think we should announce your union with Lilith tonight. I cannot shake this feeling, but something is telling me we need too. “Then you must trust this feeling, Luna. I will tell Lilith.”

After he left my office, I decided to work a little bit since everything is almost prepared and I get the feeling someone is watching me again… I slowly stand up as if I were just wrapping up, and in my Luna voice “show yourself”. Arthur is now standing in my doorway; I begin to growl at him. Did your parents teach you any manners, Arthur? He stares at me with daggers in his eyes. Well, if that is all, I must be going. Arthur slowly starts waking towards me, but I stand my ground, if you are going to say something say it. Now that he is in front of me, I forgot how tall he was, and I look up and stare straight into his eyes. Arthur, please take a step back… When he does not listen, I realize I need Alex, and I cannot mind link him in fear of being vulnerable.

I tap my apple watch without even looking at it and next thing I know Alexander is here. Arthur, I think you are overstaying your welcome he says in his Alpha voice.  Arthur apologizes and says he does not know what came over him and that he will gather his things and stay in one of the houses outside of the pack house. As he leaves Alex closes the door behind him, I look at him and did my “I told you so” pose. We need to careful tonight, I am planning on announcing the union between Alistair and Lilith, to our pack and guests. Alex looks at me with concern but agrees after how Arthur has been acting, who knows what effect Lilith will have on unmated males even if she is marked. 

Alex nods in agreement and begin to look over the list to see what is left pending for the celebration. Luckily almost everything is done since she was asleep for a whole day. I started to feel slightly worried, I knew of the history of her family. What they did along with many others to protect the supernatural world. Now it's my best friends turn, my sister, and I am terrified for her. 

"Cass is everything alright?"

Yeah, I am just thinking about Lilith, I hear him sigh. 

"Me too, babe. We both know she is a lot tougher then she shows, and now that she has her mate,  she will be an unstoppable force with the right support system."

We both laugh and I pull him in for a kiss. I'm so grateful for you Alex, and your family, especially Lilith. He hugs me and leans over to kiss my my bump saying daddy loves you very much, yes he does. I feel a little more tired than usually and I could not explain it. Alex lets go get food, I'm starving. Alex looked at me funny seeing the empty plate on my desk. 

"Let's schedule an appointment with the doctor, honey. Your appetite has been increasing since we found out you are pregnant." Sure, if that makes you feel better, babe as I look at him. Also, why did you have o say it's a boy in front of the whole pack? We don't know the gender... "I know it's a boy, we already have a female in the family, babe." Oh, thats right, haha. I almost forgot, I start to giggle, and ask if we could adopt a a girl down the road. Alex looks surprise and he furrows his brows, "lets have this conversation another time, darling." Okay... he helps me up and head off towards the kitchen.
