Chapter 12

Ladies and Gentlemen, Alpha and Lunas, May I have your attention please! I want to thank you all for attending my sisters eighteenth birthday party. We have important news to deliver to you, Liltih has found her mate, and their vows have been said before our Moon Goddess and close family. I hear the crowd cheer and scream for me; it makes me tear up a little bit. I hear Cassandra’s voice: May I introduce you too Lady Blackhart and her mate Alistair!

I open the door and there are hundreds of people attending, I am floored. I look to my right and see Alistair in the most beautiful blue suit and his mask is matching my mind. My dream was about you, my dear Alistair. We bot meet at the platform; we bow and curtsy before everyone as classical music plays. We descend the staircase hand in hand waving, smiling, and greeting people. I felt daggers from across the room from some families who were hoping I was their son’s mate. The good thing about masquerades is that you do not know who you are speaking too unless they tell you.

Alistair is the talk of the party; everyone wants to get to know him. I excuse us, please dance with me Ali, I do not want to socialize anymore. I look at him and plead with my eyes, and chuckles. “I love you, Lily.” Alistair leads me to the dance floor, and we wait for a song to start, blue night waltz begins to play, he takes my hand, and pulls me in close and we begin to dance. I hear the murmurs and the gasps of the crowd, when the music speeds up so do we, and when it slows down we do the same.

“This is quite the performance we are putting on my love.”

I know, let us give them a show to remember, smiling ear to ear. After dancing the music begins to fade and we come to a stop. Everyone is cheering and all of a sudden, the doors flung open and there were a group of people standing at the threshold.

“Congratulations are in order, Alistair and Lilith.”

I see Arthur grind his teeth, and he whispers the bătrâni. I try to main my posture and greet them, I open my arms, and curtsy. Welcome to our home and celebration, Bătrâni. As I say this the crowd gasps and step back as they hear this word. They slowly walk in, and a low mist follows them in, making it eerie to all of us. The music continues to play.

“I see the goddesses and gods have wasted no time when approving this union, a woman says”. They begin to circle us.

“Just like old times, one of the men say.”

“In our days a couple would light a candle, and hold it while they dance, only the best partners would be able to keep the candle lit” another man says.  He holds out a candle for us and provides a little fire. We take the candle and light it together. They all disperse giving us room to dance, we wait as the orchestra prepares a song to play.

“Look into my eyes the entire time, darling.” I hear the music start and they are playing The Swan Lake Waltz. As we start dancing a wave of euphoria rushes over me. It is like we have done this before, and I can not help but smile and I see Alistair smile ear to ear as we dance. Not once did our candle flicker our flame stayed large and bright. As the big finale of the song was coming up, we begin twirling together. I felt like I was in one of my romance movies, and when the song finished Alistair dipped me and kissed me passionately as our candle was still burning. The crowd burst into cheers and so did the elders. I felt relieved, their presence, and aura is intimidating.

Alistair and I made our way from the dance floor and we noticed the bătrâni were in pursuit. I look at him and say we have to have a meeting eventually, let us meet in the back where some security guards are witnesses. As we move, they caught on and headed that way as well. “Good evening Lady Blackhart” said the man who gave us the candle.

Good evening, what brings the bătrâni to bless us with their presence? I curtsy, this whole time Gaia has been telling me how to react, because they will take anything as an insult. Thank the goddesses for having a wolf who has my past lives memories. My train of thought was broken, “My dear Lilith, you have not changed one day”, the lady with fire as her eyes, brings her hand to the bottom of my chin gently moving my head side to side. “Please rise, my Lady. I shall not have you kneel all night.”

“We are here because the threat is closer than you realize. It is a foe both old and new, one we thought dead.”

“Does Gaia have access to your past lives, Lady Blackhart?”

Alistair chimes in, please bătrâni we have taken every precaution to ensure this night runs smoothly. May we have a meeting in Lady Blackharts office tomorrow, say noon? I see they all look at each other and nod in agreement. “My Lady we do not require a guest house, we will, what do you call it… protect the territory while you train, think of it as a birthday gift.” I curtsy, thank you, this gift is most honorable and will not be forgotten.

We walk away, train? I ask Alistair. “Yes, my dear. the bătrâni will have news of this threat and will want to teach and train you in the old ways.” I furrow my brows, and he takes me back to the dance floor.

(Arthurs P.O.V)

I picked Selena up and greeted her parents. Selenas mother was impressed to say the least, I spoke to them for a moment when her mother asked her to leave the room. I objected and her mother stared daggers into me, while her father tried to ease the tension. Please Luna, if you have anything to say you can say to my future Luna and myself.

Sharon eyes widen as she realized what I said. I will have to excuse ourselves Alpha and Luna, I promised my mate that we would dance the night away. I see her smiling ear to ear, and she kisses her dad on the cheek as he smiled and waved us off. We could hear her mother complaining as we exited the house.

“I do not think my mother likes you.” It is alright, baby, she will warm up to me once I giver her grandchildren. I see her eyes widen as she smacks my chest, “Arthur, do you not think it is to early to discuss children?” I grab her hand and take her to a hidden spot in the garden, it has concrete benches with vines growing over them. The hedges of beautiful white flowers blooming on them. I grab one and place behind her ear, and she blushes. I kneel before her and pull out a box, and I see her gasp. “A-Arthur, what are you doing?!”

I believe in the mate bond, but I also want to marry you. Selena Mendy of Crescent Moon Pack, will you marry me? “She screams yes and wraps her arms around my neck squeezing me and kissing me. I kiss her back and place my grandmothers ring on her hand, a perfect fit, and it made me smile. I kiss her back, harder, as she moans against my lips, I smell her arousal. Aries starts fighting for control, he lifts her dress, and picks her up so she can feel our hardened member. I quickly put her down and fix her dress. I pull myself away.

I see her eyes turn black with lust and she purrs, making Aries prance around. I need to make sure I get you to that party so I may introduce you to my parents. Before we go, there is one thing baby. I was not the greatest guy to everybody; I was a douche until I met you. I know it has only been a day, but everyone tells me there is something different about me, and I tell them it is you. I see her beautiful smile and I hold out my hand, she places her hand in mine and we head to the ball. Once Lilith and Alistair were announced I took her to meet my parents, they fell in love with her. I introduced her to Alex, Cassandra, Lilith, and Alistair and Lilith and Selena hit it off. This made me feel relaxed, and happy.

Watching Lilith and Alistair dance was something she always daydreamed about when we were kids, I am so happy for her. Then the doors flew open and Lilith greeted them with such honor and respect. They put on another show for the elders and we could feel the atmosphere lighten up after. I took my future Luna to the dance floor and kept my promise, the first of many.

(Abraham P.O.V)

After the the bătrâni came and Lilith and Alistair shared another dance, I was looking for Bella. I am so freaking nervous Augustus, what if she does not want to dance with me? What if she reject me? “What if this, what if that, bro calm down. Bella feels the mate bond, I saw the way she looked at you, try not to scare her okay?” Augustus walks away with two thumbs up, and I finally caught her scent, I knew she was masking her original, but I could still find her in a crowd spell or no spell. As I approach, my jaw dropped as she was wearing a silk spaghetti string floor length gown with a slit. She let her hair down for this occasion and it was naturally wavy.

My heart started racing, I knew she sensed me, so I took my time coming through he crowd. We made eye contact. We were both flirting with our eyes, exchanging smiles, and pleasantries with everyone. When we finally were standing in front of each other and held out my hand, may I have this dance my lady? I took her to the dance floor, and we joined in on the waltz, she was laughing as we were spinning.

“I never had this much fun before Abe!” I pull her in closer and she let out a small moan. Isabella, please tell me you will be mine? “Abraham, there’s so much more going on then what you know.” I do not care; we were paired for a reason and I wish to honor that. We keep dancing and I slowly lead us away from the dance floor and we finally stop. I look down at her and she looks up at me with those gray eyes, eyes that looked like a storm. She takes my hand leads us outside and she sighs.

I hold hug her from behind and I got her scent of arousal, my grip tightens, and I whisper mine into her neck. She turns and kisses me; I can tell it is her first kiss, so I gently wrap my arms around her again and kiss back slower. As I give my brother two thumbs up, I make my way through the crowd greeting people. My father wanted to introduce me to a few Alphas and their only daughters from neighboring packs. So, to keep the man happy I accepted, and met with them. None, of them were my mates which is what they were hoping for. I am happy for my brother, but I do not think I am ready to be tied down. We are only twenty-three and that is still considered young.

“Young Augustus, my have you grown!” I turn and I am greeted with a bear hug, Alpha Jonas it is always a pleasure, as I mumble through his bear hug.

“Dear, please put the man down before you kill him.” I hear my father laughing at me as I am being crushed. Then the most amazing scent came through, what is this? Vanilla bean…

“Father, please you’re embarrassing me.” Once he lets me go, I run up to her and hold her in my arms. MINE. I sense her parents jaw drop and my father as well. They got their wish; I found my mate… I feel her wrap her arms around me and she inhales my scent. My mother comes rushing over to congratulate us and to Alpha Jonas who now has someone to take over his pack with his daughter.

“I am so happy my daughter will have someone by her side as she takes over the pack. The two of you will have a work coming your way. I plan on retiring this autumn with my lovely wife.”

I look at them in shock, well it is a good thing my father had us all prepare and trained. We all laughed, and I introduce myself. Augustus Blackhart at your service, my lady. She giggles, “Lord Blackhart, I am Anya of the Redwood pack.” I look her in the eye and ask for this dance and she agrees, I lead her to the dance floor, and I take the time to get to know her as we dance. She studied to be doctor and I own a small security company to assist my dad with his architecture company when clients ask for cameras and high security tech. We rambled on for hours, talking about our travels, goals, family life, and I was falling for her. It’s the strangest thing, I just met you and I’m already in love. Crap, I said that out loud didn’t I? Anya laughed and took my hand; I love you too August. Our families could tell I just became a lovesick puppy.
