Emily frowned. Why was he holding her when he was on the phone with Brianna? Did he want her to listen to them whisper sweet nothings to each other?
For some reason, this upset her. She tried to get up, but the more she struggled, the tighter Dylan held her. He said lowly, "Don't move."
She wanted to continue struggling when he pressed her lips to her ear and said with a hint of warning, "Be obedient while I answer this call."
Emily didn't dare to move anymore and fell silent.
Dylan smiled faintly, seemingly pleased with her obedience. Without even realising it, he rubbed his thumb against her waist.
When the call was connected, a man's anxious voice rang out. "Mr. Clay, Miss Rose got into an accident. She's at the hospital now."
