The next morning when she woke, Kaia felt refreshed for the first time in a long time. The long nights sleep combined with waking up in the now very familiar Kala’ree pavilion brought her a surprising sense of comfort. She stretch her arms looking around. A few of the Kala’ree were already gone and others were starting to stir. Kaia began to fold up her sleeping mat and combed out her tangled hair with her fingers. As she did so, the sweet scent of the bath oils that still clung to the strands wafted into her nose. She breathed deeply for a moment, contemplating tying her hair into its usual plait, but finally decided to leave it alone. She tousled it one last time and pulled her cowl over her head, letting it rest loosely around her shoulders. She got up, eager to get up and moving.
