Larissa’s pen hovered over the open page of her planner as her phone vibrated beside her. Her eyes flicked to the screen, and there it was, Jasper’s name lighting up her display. Her lips curled into an uncontrollable smile, her earlier doubts vanishing like morning mist in the sun. She quickly picked up, pressing the phone to her ear. “Hello,” she said, her voice steady, though her heart danced wildly in her chest. “Hello, pretty lady,” Jasper’s warm voice came through the line, smooth and teasing. “Did you get my flowers?” Larissa’s cheeks flushed as she glanced at the bouquet on her desk.
