As the morning unfolded, Larissa entered the lobby clad in yesterday’s attire, her stride uneven with a subtle limp marring her usual grace. Mark’s gaze lingered on her longer than usual, his curiosity piqued. Almost in her shadow, Jasper appeared, his unexpected proximity to Larissa stirring a ripple of surprise in Mark. “Weird,” he whispered under his breath, the word barely escaping his lips as he turned back to the smiling receptionist, the anomaly of the moment still echoing in his mind.
