The Executive's Secret

Chapter 4

Larissa walked into the quiet apartment dragging her heels as she headed to the fridge, she had assumed that Sydney had fallen asleep after they texted. She got out some leftover pizza and put it in the microwave to heat it up, Sydney did not have a cooking bone in her, hence the pizza. Her first day had been so exhausting for her, she began to wonder how it would be for the next three years of her contract.

As Larissa munched on her pizza a text from Sydney came through, "hey Lar I'm not home, I'll be back tomorrow", this came as a surprise to Larissa who had just assumed that Sydney was in her bedroom the entire time.

"where are you?" Larissa asked and Sydney gave a prompt reply, "i went out with tat guy i met at the bar",

"well i wanted to tell you something regarding the guy I met at the bar"

"did he call you? some guys can be clingy just block him" Sydney said in a hurried text with some spelling errors, evident that Larissa was disturbing something. "i'll tell you when you get back, so probably tomorrow after work" Larissa said not wanting to disturb her friend further, "okay Lar, love you" Sydney responded with a heart emoji, "love you too" Larissa texted back.

She continued to eat her pizza while thinking about her interactions with Jasper. They barely spoke and when they did it was brief and lacked any emotion, maybe it was for the best that they kept their distance from each other. She got up from the chair and went to lock the front door before heading to her room and changing out of her work clothes, she headed to the bathroom, removed her makeup while running a shower then she got underneath the water letting it hug her warmly, her muscles relaxed under the warm water and all the tension she had carried on her shoulders during the day disappeared.

After her shower she went to her bed with a loose vest and her underwear, se set her alarm and got under the warm covers while hugging her body, as she drifted to sleep she wished that Jasper's big strong arms were the ones holding her.

Larissa strutted confidently into the office building the next day in her black slacks, pink shirt and loafers. She had her hair in a high ponytail and as she took a step it swayed side to side. She stepped into the elevator pressing her floor number and waiting for it to close when she noticed a young lady running towards the elevator asking that she hold it for her, she acted quickly and the young lady who seemed to be around her age stepped in.

She did not look like she came for work judging by her outfit, she had leggings with slides and a baggy t-shirt that kinda looked like it didn't even belong to her. She muttered a 'thank you' to Larissa with a smile before reaching out to press the floor she would be heading to but paused and took her hand back to her.

'maybe we are heading to the same floor' Larissa thought, however the more she thought about it the less she believed that she was, there were only two offices up there, hers and Jasper's and Jasper's meetings began after lunch today plus he came at 9 am and it was a quarter to nine so who was se going to see?

The elevator came to a halt opening up to their floor, Larissa worked out confidently even though she could feel the woman's eyes boring into the back of her head, she wanted to ask if she could assist her but when she turned to face her the woman was already walking in the direction of Jasper's office. She turned and walked to her office, maybe she was his sister or his girlfriend. The thought of Jasper having a girlfriend made her stomach turn to bile, she could not imagine him doing all the things he was doing to her to some other woman, "what are you saying Larissa" She thought out loud as she sat down, "get it together" she continued.

Moments later she heard the elevator ding and heard the rhythmic heavy footsteps, Jasper had arrived, she quickly got up and ran out of her office to talk to him about the lady, she didn't want him to be shocked when he walked into his office, she stood in front of him stopping him in his tracks and she looked up into his eyes. Those eyes, she could get lost in them all day long, before she realized she was trailing his face with her eyes, she looked at his luscious lips and licked her upper lip, what she would do to feel his lips again.

He pulled her out her trance by calling her name, "Larissa", her eyes went back up to his and she could see the annoyance in his eyes, s**t! she messed up. She gathered her thoughts and cleared her throat before speaking, "sir there's a young lady in your office, she did not set up an appointment though" she said quickly,

"you let a stranger in my office?" he asked giving her a quizzical look, "i assumed she was your sister, she walked right past security" she said her voice almost shaky, she could not afford to lose this job it was the only thing keeping her afloat.

"I'm an only child" Jasper said, anger clearly brewing in his voice, 'so girlfriend then' Larissa thought to herself as she wondered how she would get out of this situation. As if on cue, the lady stepped out of Jasper's office with no leggings on, only the baggy t-shirt and ran towards Jasper with open arms,

"hey baby" she said in a high pitch voice as she jumped onto Jasper and her consequently held her up.

Larissa stood there watching them kissing not knowing whether she was dismissed or not, Jasper began to move towards his office with said lady in his hands while they kissed and Larissa took the opportunity to head back to her office.

"Who is she?" she asked herself knowing very well that she had no answer to that question. She felt a pang in her heart, Jasper had a girlfriend all along but still slept with her. 'This is exactly why she did not do one night stands' she silently thought as she began typing a document that had been sent from the PR team.
