Jessica Pov
"You are Jessica, correct?"
I nodded, unable to find my voice. I still didn't understand what was happening, and I didn't know what to expect from this alpha.
Gabriel turned to my stepmother. "I will take her with me now. You will receive payment once we have arrived at my territory."
My stepmother scowled, but she didn't object. With a final glare at me, she and her pack members left, leaving me alone with Gabriel.
He studied me for a long moment, and I felt a sense of unease at his intense gaze. Finally, he spoke.
"You're going to come with me now, Jessica. Don't try to run or resist, or it will only make things worse for you."
I swallowed, my heart pounding in my chest. I had no idea what he had in store for me, but I knew that I had no choice but to obey. I nodded, and he gestured for me to follow him out.
As we walked down a little path. I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. What was going to happen to me now? Would Gabriel use me for his own purposes, just like Richard had planned to do? Or was there something else in store for me?
Something about Gabriel made me nervous, despite his kind words and gentle demeanor. I couldn't shake the feeling that he had an ulterior motive for buying me.
But despite my reservations, I knew that my current situation was untenable.
I was still in danger from Richard's pack, and Gabriel seemed to offer a way out. I decided to accept his offer, hoping that I could trust him and that he would keep me safe.

When we arrived at Gabriel's castle, I was struck by its size and grandeur. It was a sprawling fortress, surrounded by high walls and guarded by fierce-looking wolves. As we approached the entrance, I felt a knot form in my stomach. This was my new home, and I had no idea what to expect.
Gabriel led me inside, showing me around the castle and introducing me to his pack members. They all seemed friendly enough, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they were watching me, judging me. I felt like an outsider, a stranger in their midst.
Gabriel was kind to me, treating me with respect. He gave me my own quarters, where I could rest and relax, and he even assigned me a personal servant to attend to my needs.
But despite Gabriel's kindness, I couldn't help but feel like I was a prisoner of the pack.

I woke up the next morning feeling a sense of purpose. Today was the day I was going to find out more about this pack and its members, as Gabriel had given me permission to roam around. As I got dressed, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of people I was going to meet. Would they be welcoming? Would they be friendly? Would they be like the bullies I have encountered before?
As I walked towards the pack's meeting place, I couldn't help but notice how the surroundings seemed to change. The air felt different, and the trees seemed to be closing in on me. I had heard stories about how packs lived in the woods, and it seemed that this pack was no exception.
When I arrived, I saw that the meeting place was a clearing in the woods. There were tents set up around the perimeter, and a fire was burning in the center. A few people were milling about, but no one seemed to notice me.
I made my way over to a group of people who were sitting around the fire. As I approached, they turned to look at me, and I felt a sense of unease wash over me. They all seemed to be sizing me up, as if trying to figure out if I was friend or foe.
"Can I help you?" one of them finally spoke up, breaking the silence.
"I'm Jessica," I replied, trying to sound confident. "I'm new here."
They all exchanged glances, and I could tell they were all thinking the same thing. Who is this girl, and why is she here?
After a few moments of awkward silence, one of the girls spoke up. "I'm Veronica," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Welcome to our little pack."
I could tell right away that Veronica wasn't happy about my arrival. She had a look of disdain on her face, as if I was a bother to her. I didn't know what I had done to offend her, but I could tell that I was going to have to tread carefully around her.
As the day went on, I tried my best to get to know the other members of the pack. Some were friendly, while others seemed distant and uninterested. I couldn't help but feel like an outsider, like I didn't belong.
As the night drew to a close, the pack started to settle down for the night. I found myself feeling more alone than ever, as I watched everyone else pair off and head to their tents. I didn't have anyone to talk to or anyone to share my tent with.
Just as I was about to resign myself to a lonely night, I heard a rustling in the bushes. At first, I thought it was an animal, but then I saw Veronica emerge from the underbrush.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, surprised to see her.
"I was just out for a walk," she replied, her voice softer than it had been earlier.
We sat in silence for a few moments, and I couldn't help but feel like there was something more to her visit.
"Listen," she finally said, breaking the silence. "I know I haven't been the friendliest to you, but there's a reason for that."
"I have a crush on Gabriel," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "And when I saw how he looked at you today, I got jealous."
She continued to stare at me with a smug expression. I started to feel uneasy under her gaze and began to fidget with the hem of my shirt.
"I heard about you," she finally spoke up, her voice laced with venom. "You're the new omega, the one who thinks she can just waltz in here and take whatever she wants."
I was taken aback by her hostility, unsure of what I had done to earn it. "I'm sorry if I've offended you in any way," I replied, hoping to diffuse the tension. "I'm just trying to find my place here in the pack."
Veronica let out a cold laugh, causing her skin to crawl. "Well, you won't find it by trying to get close to Gabriel," she spat out, her eyes narrowing. "He's mine."
I was confused by her sudden mention of Gabriel, the pack's alpha. I had no intention of pursuing a romantic relationship with him.
"I'm not interested in Gabriel in that way," I explained. "I just want to be a part of this pack and contribute in any way I can."
Veronica snorted dismissively. "Don't play dumb, omega. I know you're after him. But let me warn you, he'll never choose a pathetic omega like you over me."
I bristled at her insult but decided to keep my cool. "I'm not after anyone, Veronica. And even if I was, it's not up to you or anyone else to decide who someone else should be with."
Veronica's eyes narrowed further, and I could feel the tension in the air thickening. "You don't belong here, omega," she growled. "You're weak, and you'll only drag this pack down. Mark my words, you won't last long."
I could feel my heart rate increasing as I struggled to hold back tears. The words stung, and I couldn't help but feel like an outsider in this pack. But I refused to let Veronica see me cry. "I may be an omega, but I'm still a member of this pack," I said firmly. "And I won't let anyone, including you, dictate my worth."
With that, I turned on my heel and walked away, my head held high. I could feel Veronica's eyes boring into my back, but I refused to give her the satisfaction of turning around. As I made my way back to the pack's living quarters, I couldn't help but feel defeated. Maybe Veronica was right, and I didn't belong here.
But then I remembered the kindness that Gabriel and some of the other pack members had shown me. They had welcomed me with open arms and had even given me a chance to prove myself. I refused to let one person's cruelty overshadow the good in this pack.
