Kael
The moment we step out of that room, I know one thing with absolute certainty.
She is not here.
Not hidden. Not moved to another ward. Not concealed behind locked doors.
Gone.
The absence of her presence is louder than anything else in this building. It presses into my chest like ice settling deep beneath the surface, cold and unrelenting. Fenrir does not pace this time. He does not growl or push.
He goes still.
And that is far more dangerous.
Mine.
The word is no longer instinct.
It is truth.
It is law.
"She didn't just leave," I say, my voice low but steady, cutting through the charged silence between us. "Someone removed her."
There is no hesitation in my tone, no uncertainty.
Because I can feel it.
The break in the bond.
The unnatural silence where she should be.
"We start at the beginning."
Zane
Beginning.
The word grates against every nerve in my body.
My boots hit the floor in restless rhythm as I pace the length of the corridor, unable to stand still, unable to breathe properly with this pressure building inside me. It feels like a storm trapped beneath my skin, lightning searching for somewhere to strike.
"Our mate was here," I snap, turning sharply toward Kael. "Bleeding. Alone. And now she's gone."
My hands flex at my sides, energy crackling through my fingers.
"That's not a beginning," I add, my voice tightening. "That's a problem."
Storm surges forward, restless, volatile, furious.
Find her.
Now.
I don't wait for agreement.
I'm already moving.
"Doctor first."
Asher
The hospital reacts before we even reach the doors.
Conversations stop mid-sentence. Movement slows. Heads turn. Fear spreads like a ripple through still water.
They feel us.
Four dominant Alphas moving with purpose is not something that goes unnoticed.
I step ahead of my brothers as we reach the nurse's station, my presence steady, controlled. Where they burn and crackle, I anchor.
Balance is necessary.
Especially now.
"Where is the doctor who treated her?" I ask.
My voice is calm.
Measured.
But it carries enough authority that no one dares to question it.
A nurse points toward the end of the corridor without speaking.
Good.
They understand.
Rider
Something is wrong.
Not just that she's gone.
How she's gone.
I crouch briefly near the hallway floor, fingers brushing lightly over the polished surface as I close my eyes for a moment. Tempest rises instantly, senses sharpening, stretching outward.
The scent is there.
Faint.
Barely holding.
Vanilla.
Strawberries.
Steel.
But beneath it—
interference.
Engine oil.
Rubber.
Foreign scent.
Not Ironclaw.
Not Red Moon.
My jaw tightens.
Someone took her.
Deliberately.
Carefully.
And they knew exactly what they were doing.
I rise slowly.
"They masked her trail," I say quietly.
That gets their attention.
Dr Elara
The door opens before I can reach it.
Of course it does.
They don't knock.
They don't wait.
They don't ask permission.
Four Alphas fill the doorway like a force of nature, each one carrying a different kind of power, yet bound together by something deeper.
Something older.
And for the first time since she left...
I feel relief.
"You helped her leave."
The words come from Kael.
Not a question.
A statement.
His presence is suffocating in its control. There is no wasted movement, no unnecessary aggression.
Just certainty.
"Yes," I answer.
The silence that follows is immediate.
Heavy.
Zane
"You what?"
The words tear out of me before I can stop them.
I step forward, closing the distance in two strides, my body already reacting before my mind can catch up.
"You let her walk out of here?" I demand, my voice rising. "Injured? Alone?"
Storm surges violently, lightning flashing behind my eyes.
"She needed to leave," the doctor replies.
Calm.
Too calm.
"She needed time."
"Time?" I laugh, sharp and disbelieving. "We don't have time. She's our mate."
Asher
"Explain."
One word.
That is all it takes.
The room stills instantly.
She studies us carefully, her gaze moving from one to the other, assessing, measuring, weighing her next words.
Then she speaks.
"She is not what you think she is."
Rider
I step closer, slow and deliberate.
"Then tell us what she is."
Tempest leans forward inside me, alert now, focused.
Interested.
Because something about this
feels right.
Dr Elara
"She is stronger than any of you realise."
That lands every on them.
I see it in their eyes.
Not disbelief.
Recognition.
"She has been suppressing something her entire life," I continue, my voice steady now. "Not because she is weak... but because someone made sure she stayed hidden."
Kael's expression darkens.
"Who?"
"Alpha Darius."
The air shifts instantly.
Kael
Fenrir does not growl.
He does not lash out.
He simply settles deeper.
Lethal.
"I suspected as much."
Dr Elara
"There is more."
Of course there is.
"There is a prophecy."
Now I have all of their attention.
"Hailey is of ancient blood. A bloodline the witches believed they erased centuries ago."
Silence stretches between us.
Then Asher speaks.
"What bloodline?"
I inhale slowly.
Because once I say it...
there is no going back.
"The Silvermoon bloodline."
Rider
Everything inside me stills.
Tempest goes completely silent.
That name...
is not spoken lightly.
It belongs to stories.
To warnings.
To power that was never meant to exist again.
Dr Elara
"They were said to be born of all four ancient clans," I continue. "Ice, Storm, Forest, and Desert. Not divided... but whole."
My gaze meets theirs.
"You were not chosen by chance."
Zane
My chest tightens.
Storm quiets.
Just enough.
"You're saying..."
"She belongs to all of us," Rider finishes.
Dr Elara
"No."
I shake my head.
"You belong to her."
Kael
Fenrir surges forward at that.
Not in anger.
In recognition.
Dr Elara
"Her wolf has not appeared because it cannot," I explain. "Not yet."
"Why?" Asher asks.
"Because it will not come until it is called."
"Called how?"
"By her mates."
The weight of that settles heavily between them.
"She is changing," I continue. "You saw it. The silver in her hair."
Kael nods once.
"And the swords?" Rider asks.
I allow myself a small breath.
"They are not just weapons. They are heirlooms. Marked in an ancient language long forgotten."
I meet his gaze.
"They belonged to the Silvermoon line."
Asher
Everything aligns.
Too perfectly.
Too dangerously.
Zane
"And you thought letting her run was a good idea?" I demand.
"She needed control," the doctor replies.
Kael
"She is injured," I say.
"And alone."
Unacceptable.
Rider
"Where did she go?"
The question that matters.
The only one that matters.
Dr Elara
"I won't give you the exact location."
Zane growls.
I ignore it.
"But I will tell you this..."
I step closer.
"She is not as helpless as you think."
My voice lowers.
"When she awakens fully... she will be stronger than all of you."
Kael
A slow smile forms.
Cold.
Certain.
"Good."
Asher
"We don't need a location."
Hawk already understands.
Rider
I inhale again.
Deeper this time.
Tempest finds it.
A thread.
Thin.
But real.
Zane
My head snaps toward the forest.
Storm rises.
"She's close."
Kael
"Then we hunt."
And this time
we do not stop.
