Once bitten

Yzobel sighs as she started to pack her things. She's been here in this town for five years and now it's time for her to move out to avoid suspicions. She must be careful so the people around her won't get a hint of what she really is. She also must be sure that on her next destination no one must recognize her so she must change her appearance before settling down. She can still remember perfectly that night that turned her world upside down. The night that turned her of what she is now. There was light drizzles so she decided to take the narrow streets on her way home to avoid getting wet. And there, in the dark corner, she met that creature. It was beautiful beyond words and she was mesmerized. It was walking wobbly to her and by its appearance it was clearly drunk. It gotten near her as she's trying to sort out her thoughts, and before she knows exactly what was happening, she... was... bitten. And then it just laughed at her and said, "No wonder you smell good, you are a halfling. And in case you wonder what a halfling is, well one of your ancestors if not one of you parents is like me, a Vampire." And that's how she learned that vampires do exist. Not just vampires but werewolves and magic people. And all those she thought that only exist in books. But the books didn't get it right, the only thing that they got it right is the thing about soulmates. Yes, all these creatures have their destined soulmates. But the time and how to find their destined one varies depending on what species they are. Like for the werewolves, they can find their mates once they turned sixteen. And they can recognize them through their scent. Their destined mates will have their favourite scent, either it is food or nature. For magic folks like witch, wizard, and warlock, they can find their mates when they are 21. Once they turned 21, a mark will glow in their palm once their mate is nearby. Each of these mark is unique that only their mates would have the same pattern. And last for the vampires. Vampires are rare because they can only find their mate when they turned 200 years old, because they have the most superior strength and they don't age physically. Their species become rare because they were hunted by humans on ancient times. Now they were hidden for the exact same reason for humans are scared of them. For they thought that vampires fed on blood. But what they didn't know is, that vampires only fed on their mates blood. And that's how they find their mates. Because only on their mates' blood, would make them thirsty and, turned on, to drink blood. And also, they can only conceive through their mates. Even if they have s*x with other species, be it human or supernatural, they won't be able to make their s****l partner pregnant, if it was a female, and they can't get pregnant, if it is a male. And the myth that they can make another vampire by just biting them, it can only happen if the one biting is a pure vampire and the one being bitten has a vampire blood running in their veins. But being bitten doesn't mean you can be considered as a pureblood, no you are still a halfling, a half vampire-half human or any creature. Once bitten, you'll stop aging. If you are already old in human age, your appearance will turn back when you were on your 20s. Your strength and speed will also increase. But not as strong and fast as a pureblood. But you will be able to find your mate once you turned 200 years old. But sadly, if your mate is a human or a halfling, they will continue to age as human does unless a pureblood will bite them. And even both of you are halfling and was bitten, your child will only be considered a halfling and must be bitten by a pureblood so they won't age. You can only be a pureblood if your vampire mate is a pureblood. Because you drank on your mate's blood,you will share the same blood as your mate. And because you're more thirsty on your mates blood while you are mating, all your children will also be purebloods. The complications of being a pureblood adds up to why they were the most rare species of all these super-naturals. And also, the reason why all halflings that was bitten aren't staying at the same place for a long period of time. First, because they are not aging. Second they we're searching for their own mate. And lastly they are searching for purebloods that can turn their children so they can live with them for as long as they can exist. A pureblood can live up to 5 millennium, while a halfling can only live up to 5 centuries. And the one that bitten Yzobel is on his 3rd millennium as he told her so. It was his job to find halflings like her so they can continue to exist. The scent that a halfling gives to a pureblood is sweet enough, for them to bite, but not enough to make them thirsty as their mate would. He also told her that he is still searching for his mate but not that hopeful, for it might be a human or a halfling that hasn't been bitten, that she might have died long ago. Because of this reason, Yzobel stayed connected to him. She contacts him every time she settles on a new town or country. And now, because of invention of cellphones and social media, she continued to update him of her whereabouts. She is about to celebrate her 200 years of existence in a month so she decided to move in the same country as where his blood father is, as she considered him for a while now. She's loading the last of her belongings when she receive a call. "Father," she address him as she answered the phone. "Where are you now?", he asked. " I just finished loading the last of my things and I'll be driving off to airport." "Go to Delmont Towers. My private jet plane is waiting for you at the rooftop. From now on you'll be living with me.
