Chapter Fifty: Growing Pains

Anna pushed open the heavy backdoor of the new coffee shop with her hip. Her arms were full of boxes and Jax was still sleepy-eyed and dragging along behind her. She flipped on the lights with her shoulder and set the boxes on the counter of the shop.  Even though she and Jax were now living full time in the packhouse with Charlie, the upstairs apartment was still renovated so that Jax could come with her on weekends if needed and have a place to sleep or do his homework while Anna worked.  She unlocked the door to the apartment and tucked Jax into the daybed by the front windows.
