"Wakey Wakey eggs and bakey." Symmone yelled in her best friends ear. "Go away Sy." McKenzie mumbled burying her face further into her pillow. This was how she was woken up everyday for the past six years. With Symmone James yelling in her ear. "Come on Kenzie. We need to go to school." Sy grumbled dragging her out of bed. "Okay fine I'm up." Kenzie laughed sitting up on the floor. "Good. I'm gonna go see if the guys are ready." She said walking towards the door. "You mean you're gonna go stare at my brother as he goes through his morning routine." Kenzie scoffed glaring at the curly haired menace. "Just get up and get dressed." Sy said closing the door behind her. McKenzie got of the floor chuckling at her best friends antics and walked into her bathroom. Her and Symmone had been friends since they were 10. The girl had developed an unhealthy crush on Kenzie's brother. Ever since Jason hit puberty Sy had been a borderline creepy stalker. Jason seems to like the attention since he encourages it. But Kenzie can't judge. She is no position to judge. Her brother's best friend of all the cliches. Her unhealthy crush on a certain guy is just as bad. Zachary Winchester, second oldest in a family of five unruly boys. Popularly known at Redwood Academy as the Winchester brothers. Jason falls under the same category. To everyone he is basically a Winchester. So out of the five Winchester brothers, Liam was the oldest at twenty. He wasn't at Redwood anymore, he had already graduated. That didn't stop him from hanging out with his brothers and Jason outside school. He was the quite one of the group. Shockingly enough he wasn't even the one in charge. Jay and Zack were. Zack was the second oldest. Him and Jason were practically twins. They did everything together. The bad boy varsity jocks of Redwood. They did everything together, went everywhere together. It was annoying. Well to her at least. Zack practically lived in their house. Something everyone apparently found normal. At least they were seniors now and were finally graduating. The actual twins came right after. The seventeen year old boys from hell. They were the schools pranksters. When they weren't acing their tests they were causing trouble. Logan and Noah were her best friends. Other than Sy that is. They always made the pristine school a little more tolerable. Then there was Harry. The family baby. He was a complete geek in comparison to his brothers. He lived in his own world. His own little bubble. That's what Kenzie liked about him. He was captain of the Mathlete team and spent more time in the library than anyone else. He was in all of Kenzie's classes. Even the advanced ones. The only Winchester she could really relate to. Redwood Academy was a school for the rich and brilliant. You had to maintain a high GPA if you wanted to stay there. Anyone that failed three consecutive tests was kicked out of the school. It was all to keep it's image. This helped eradicate bullying. Everyone one was a nerd here. There were just different categories of nerd. The bad boy, the jocks, the cheerleaders, chess club, science club, you name it we had it. Everyone was a different flavour of nerd. Which made going here awesome. "So what are we doing for your birthday?" Sy asked as her and Kenzie walked down the halls towards their lockers. "I am going to be at home watching Netflix and stuffing my face with cake." Kenzie said. "Come on really Kenzie. You're turning sixteen." Sy groaned. "Yes, and?" "We need to have a party." She said as they reached their lockers. "Who needs to have a party?" Logan asked popping out of nowhere, Harry and Noah close behind him. "Logan please tell Kenzie she can't not have a sweet sixteen" Sy said turning to him. "Kenzie you can't not have a sweet sixteen. Mostly because Jason's already started planning it." He said. "Please tell me you're joking. I don't want a party. Especially one planned by my brother." Kenzie said closing her locker. "Why not?" Noah asked. "Because it won't be a birthday party for Kenzie. It'll be another crazy house party and Kenzie's birthday will just be an excuse. You guys always do that to us." Harry said. "Thank you Harry. I won't know anyone there and they won't even care that it's my birthday. They'll just show up for the alcohol and because it's the Winchester brothers hosting." Kenzie told her friends. "It still won't stop your brother." Noah shrugged. "Just talk to him for me will you." Kenzie told them walking off with Harry to their first class of the day. "You know their still gonna host a party right?" He asked once they were alone. "I know." She sighed. "But I guess I've gotten used to being outshined by my brother." "At least you only have one brother outshining you. You know Jason is considered a Winchester more than I am?" "I can't wait for them to graduate. At least Logan and Noah are easier to handle." "It's cute that you think them graduating makes a difference. Look at Liam. He graduated two years ago but he's still close by and people still worship him." Harry laughed. "Aren't you supposed to be encouraging me." She asked smiling. "You're the optimist, I'm the realist. I'm supposed to be telling you how it is." He said just as they entered their advanced chemistry class. "Of course you are." She laughed. McKenzie knew Harry was right. It would take a miracle to get out of her brother's shadow. Jason Black was like a freaking supernova. She just had to wait for him to die out. That in itself was an impossible task. Because he seemed to get brighter as the days went by. Which wasn't good for McKenzie. "Okay Kenzie. We'll just talk to him. He'll understand." She told herself. She really hoped he would.
