(Ben's POV)
It's been 1 week since we ran from that disgusting, vile pack. We haven't stopped running except to use the bathroom, sleep, eat, or take care of Zeyliana's wounds. She has had to ride on either me or my father's back. Her body can barely handle staying alive much less running. We've managed to pass over 8 territories without getting caught. Based on what she's told me about her brother and the rumors that went around we're headed to the Bloodfang pack. The only pack that is ruled by Lycans but has 2 male alphas. I know I probably have no right to say this but he shouldn't have abandoned her. He could've taken her with him. I only found out she was my sister 2 years ago, not only that but I've only been guarding her for 4 years. Her brother left 8 years ago meaning he knew she was getting beaten and raped but left anyway. I haven't told Zeyliana what I thought because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. She's been hurt enough for an eternity.
The absolute worst part is that she's pregnant with that sorry excuse of an alpha's pups. I can smell the power coming from him. And I say him instead of them because the others have already died. They were too weak. Right now we're taking a break to go hunt. Like usual find a log or empty tree to put her in and cover it with leaves so rogues don't attack her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~2 Hours Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We just finished hunting and managed to catch a good size deer. We jogged our way back to where Zeyliana was only to find another rogue sniffing and scratching at where I left her. I growled dropping my kill and charged towards him only to skid to a stop when he shows his belly and neck to me in submission He whines submissively and it's only then I realize that he's a pup, maybe only 5-7 years old. I nudge him with my snout to let him know it's ok to get up. I sniff his scent and what I smell causes my eyes to widen. He smells just like Zeyliana. There's no way they said all her pups died. That means they must've taken the ones that survived and either sold them to rogues or other packs. I squint my eyes and lick a patch of his fur only to realize that underneath his fur is completely white.
"oh god" I motion my father over and what he sees causes him to pale considerably.
"white fur is hereditary.....that means she was telling the truth when she said she shifted 13 years ago."
If you could cry in wolf form I would be bawling. I shifted back to my human from and slowly stroked the little pups fur, he looked so skinny. "do you think you could shift back for me, I'll give you some food if you do." All of a sudden 4 more bundles of fur are charging at me. My eyes widen as they all shift back. They look nothing alike except for the eyes. The hazel and emerald eyes that only Zeyliana has. I slowly reach for them causing them to flinch. A whimper escaped me as i gave them some pieces of the deer. After they finish they start whining and sniffing around the log.
"Mama" the youngest said. I looked towards my father who nodded and i slowly uncovered Zeyliana. The pups looked ready to charge at her but I held them back. "sorry pups but you have to be careful, your mom is very hurt"
The eldest growled lowly "and why should we care she weft us" I whipped my head towards the boy and gared "she didn't leave any of you, when you were born the doctor told her you were did, she didn't know you were alive."
I heard a growl come from behind me, turning around I stared directly into the silver eyes of what I could only guess was Zeyliana's wolf. She snapped at me angrily. "don't you dare growl at my pups!" she kept an eye on my as she beckoned her pups closer and they immediately rushed towards her. She enveloped them in a hug . And that's how our party of 3 became a party of 8.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~( 9 Years Later )~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Zeyliana's POV)
It's been 9 years we left that wretched place. I met my 5 beautiful pups for the first time. There was only one girl and she was the youngest other than the son I was pregnant with when we left. The other pups died but I was glad at least one made it. After a few years the boys got more curious as to why I wasn't around and what happened to me. I didn't have it in me to tell them so Ben did. They were upset at him for a few days but eventually anger turned into disdain. Not only for their fathers but my family, my mate, and my brother. Everyone thinks he abandoned me when he left that he knew about the beatings. He didn't I made sure he didn't. Or at least I tried. But he loved me there is no way he left me knowing what they were doing to me. I've gained weight, and no I don't mean fat. After the pups came my wolf finally decided to heal me. I've barely talked to her since then. I found out my wolf has always been more powerful than an alpha, including our mate. She could've helped me if she really wanted to instead of calling me a weak human and constantly telling me that it was my fault our mate didn't want us. If she was fine with letting me get beaten and raped just so our mate could hurt me more so I think she can handle the silent treatment. After all, if it wasn't regarding Steven she never spoke to me in the 12 years since I've shifted. I gained strength and fighting skills by fighting off rogues to protect my pups. During that time Arthur and Ben trained me. That's what I forgot to mention, I apparently have another son from Steven. The oldest whose name is Alaam. I'm the only person he let's see his vulnerable side but I think that'll change when he meets his mate. All my boys have been taught how to treat woman and they know I'll tear that ass up if they disrespect one. I do dread the day he we have to return to that pack. I don't want to but that pack is my son's birth-right and I'll be damned if he doesn't get what he deserves.
I'm proud of my boys though, they're strong and help keep us fed while my daughter Lisa and I cook whatever food they bring. Occasionally I'll hunt but I don't like leaving Kane behind. He's 9 and is too small to take down the game we need to survive.
So far things have been good, but like the human saying goes. 'All good things must come to an end.'
