After we ate our breakfast, I pulled my mate on the corner. She looked at me with questioning eyes, wondering why did I pulled her.

“I and Hyden needs to go to the training ground. We still need to train our warriors. You stay here at the pack house with Zevara. I will be back before dinner or earlier than I expect.”

“Okay,” she answered quickly. That’s it? No violent reaction. I felt Hyden tapping my shoulder indicating that we need to go. I just smiled at her then went outside with my Beta.

When we were already at the training ground, all the trainees were already starting with the warm up. Our warm up is running around the field thrice (which by the way, one full run is 1 kilometer). When they were done, they all lined up waiting for our next command.

“All the female trainees, you will train in obstacle 1. Beta Hyden will be in command. All male trainees, proceed to the colosseum. You will have sparring.”

I started to walk to the colosseum and when all the 90 trainees were inside they partnered up and started the sparring. I watched with hawk eyes and I know they have greatly improved after the 90-day training but I can still see some who were struggling.

“To all who were losers, pair up with each others. The previus winners pair up and then you will spar with me.”

They all nodded and the sparring started. I can hear groans and bone cracking for straight ten minutes and then everything fell silent when the winners were determined.

“Okay, come in front Ceddie,” I ordered one of the winners. Ceddie is leading in this batch I must say. Just a few more practices and polishing and I can already assign him to be a regular warrior.

Since he already know the drill, when he came in front, he started to rain attacks on me and I stand in defense. He went with a left kick then a right jab that I easily blocked. He then sweeped but I took steps backward and grabbed his shoulder then pinned him on the ground. I called for the next until such time that I practiced with all of them.

“Good job. I can say that you have improved. For the rest of the afternoon, you will try obstacle 3. Aquil will oversee you. For now, you grab a bit of rest and have your lunch.”

The colosseum started to get empty. I sighed, so far this day has been pretty nice. I mind-linked Hyden that I already released the trainees and that he needs to oversee the trainings. I went to the changing house (it is a small house wherein they can shed their clothes and shift) to let my wolf out. I shed all my clothes and I concentrated on letting the wild out.

I ran Northwest and I can feel my paws digging on the dry soil. I moved across the fields and merged into the thick forest. The wind caresses my fur as I ran. I took a few turns and I halt when I was already at the top of the plateau. I looked at the river below and I can feel my wolf relax.

“Zoren, do you think she wants us?” I asked my wolf as we sat under a tree.

“You know, mate is bound to be with us.”

“But she’s a human and we can’t force her to stay. I saw how she looked at us with an unknown emotion.”

“You are being pessimestic again i***t! At least now, all you can do is prove yourself worthy to her. Woo her or something like that. One day, her heart will open to us. There will come a day our mate will accept all this as reality and by that time, I guess we can live without regret. You just need to have some effort.”

“Easy for you to say. I never knew that you are into some traditional wooing a girl thing Zoren.”

“You sayin’ I’m quite old for that?” he asked. I just shrugged and continued to stare at the trees that stetches like a green blanket before me. I have a lot of worries deep inside and only Zoren knows all of that. I never told a single soul about what is on my mind or rather what I feel. I was born for the title and to be an Alpha is no easy job.

I really wish there wlll come a time that our mate will open up to us and I can share my thoughts and fears to her without worrying of being judged and all. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow because none of us can see what will happen in the future but I am constanntly scared. Scared by the idea and the fact that even my mate will never be sure of me.

I am the strongest Alpha in the continent. I bet they all see me as dark, black and grey. They never see any color in me. That dullness fit me long ago but now, I don’t know. I admit I can see rainbows when I am with her.

“You keep on heavily sighing. What’s your problem?” asked Zoren. I rolled my eyes at him.

“None of your business.”

“I think about her. How about you?”

“Same here. I just thought about what will happen to us and our mate. i can’t help but think about what if’s and that. Will she be happy with us?”

“I guess she will be. We will do our best to make her the happiest. One day, she will look at us with love on her eyes. We will not be forever beast in her eyes. We will make sure of that.”

“In three weeks time, it will be full moon,” I said out of nowhere. Zoren just stayed silent and we stayed there for another one hour before deciding to go back.

On my way, I saw a bunch of pink and white thunder lilies. I picked them. She might like this. If I follow Zoren, maybe he is right about winning her heart. I went back to the changing house and shifted back. I held the bouquet of thunder lilies and I went straight to the pack house.

I went straight to her room and I saw my mate reading a book on her bed. She was so engrossed to it that she did not feel me coming inside her room. I faked a cough to get her attention and she looked at me in surprise.

“Oh! I thought you’ll be back at five in the afternoon.” She placed her book on the side table and I saw her put a book mark on the page she last read.

“I ended the training early. I let out Zoren for a run.”

“Zoren? Is he a pack member?” she asked me.

“Pack member? How did you know?”

“Well, this morning, Zevara was kind enough to explain the basic know how in your life. Well, sort of like that. She explained that you are the Alpha and that your name is not Alpha but Rust Raymond Alfaro. She is an Omega before which is sort of a commoner werewolf but was mated to Beta Hyden so she became the Bete Female, I conclude. Aquil is the third in command being the Gamma. She explained the heirarchy and yeah. So where is Zoren now?”

She went through the basic knowing all werewolf stuff huh? Impressive!

“He’s inside me,” I answered her earning a shock look on her face. I really want to laugh right now but I maintained my no-emotion face.

“I-inside you?! Did you eat him?!”

“Yes and No. Zoren is inside me because he is my wolf.”

“Ahh! The grey wolf last night is Zoren?” The look on her face makes me want to kiss her senseless. She looks so beautiful and adorable with her eyes and lips and…

“Get a grip of yourself i***t!” said Zoren before he blocked me. What a supportive wolf he is.

“Yes, he is Zoren. Uhmm… can I know your name?” I asked her. I remember that I never asked her that one.

“Eviarah. Eviarah Dennise Mulfy is my name.” What a beautiful name she got.

“Eviarah,” I repeated her name breathlessly. I can feel Zoren jumping in joy inside my head for knowing our mate’s name. I held out my hand, the one that was holding the bouquet of thunder lilies.

“Flowers for you. I saw it on my way back here. Uhmm… I, I just thought that you might like it.”

“I love them. They are beautiful. Thank you for this Alpha.” She smiled at me for the first time and I was like a teenage boy again when his crush said hi the very first time.

I feel like my cheeks heated and my heart is beating insanely fast. One thing is for sure, I know I’m in love with my mate.

“You can call me by my name.”

“Mon.”

“Huh?”

“You say call you by name. I call you Mon. Your name is way too long.”

Did she just give me a pet name? Holy goddess! You are showering me with blessings right now. I admit, no one calls me Mon or even alter my name.

“Okay, if you like that. Did you have lunch already?” I asked her. I forgot to ask it when I came back.

“I cooked since Zevara has some important matters to do. she said she need to fetch her son from school.” Now I remember little Rolen.

“Do you want me to cook for you?” she asked that shocked me. I mean, there is no shocking about cooking but my mate cooking for me is another thing okay?

“Sure, if you want that.”

“Okay. I’ll just cook some chicken lollipop and ratatouille. Are you okay with that?”

“That sounds fantastic,” I replied shortly. I mean, I don’t know what words suit best but I just made it simple.

She placed all the thunder lilies on a flower vase inside her room and then tied her hair in a messy bun. We walked downstairs and she wore the brown apron in the kitchen then started to take all the ingredients from the fridge.

“Do you mind if I ask you for some help?”

“Oh no problem. What do I need to do?”

“Just cut all the vegetables to small squares. I’ll start with the chicken.”

I nodded and get all the vegetables on the table then washed them clean. I started chopping the squash and the eggplant and placed them in a huge bowl with water. I looked at Eviarah as she was so engrossed in cutting the chicken wings. I smiled at the thought that we are doing the food preparation together and we look like married couple. At least I can hope that it will happen right?

I came bac on the reality when I felt my finger was being cut by the knife. I pulled out the edge of the knife on my finger and I let it heal. She looked up at me and I continued to slice the vegetables like nothing really happened.
