Love is feeling less-----Episode 1
South Korea
Daejeon City, 9:00 pm
He lifted his neck and felt pressure in his back. He had been sitting bent over and engaged in work for a long time. He stroked the back of his neck muscles. At once, his eyes went to his wristwatch, which was telling him the time was ten o’clock at night. Reluctantly, he shut down the laptop, took off his long coat from the stand, wrapped the cashmere muffler around his neck, and picked up the laptop from the glass work table.
“Goodnight, Mr. Evan Lawrence!”
The robotic voice echoed in the room but before he could hear it, he was already gone. As soon as the door was closed, the lights automatically switched off.
Evan wore a white shirt with grey jeans. His black shoes moving with every step shined even in the darkness, and his branded wristwatch oozed masculinity as he walked.
Evan was handsome with black, deep, big eyes and stunning curved eyelashes. He had an elongated nose that eventuated his sharp features; he had full burgundy lips, a blooming complexion, and a muscular body with a trimmed waist protruding from six feet that ruled every gender. He was Korea’s most eligible bachelor. His company made robotic products, which was a match to his personality because his emotions were always stilted.
Every girl wanted to be Evan’s girlfriend but he was not interested in being involved in a relationship, because honestly, he knew that any girl who was impressed by him would easily get bored with his personality.
Evan was a dry-tempered person. Anything outside of his routine was distasteful to him. His mother was Korean, while his father was from England, but Evan lived in Korea. His parents had a love marriage. They were living a happy life. After a year of their union, he was born.
When he turned five, his father died in an accident. Shortly thereafter, his mother remarried and moved to China, leaving him with his grandfather. In such a situation, his grandfather took care of him and frankly, he didn’t miss his parents due to the attention he gained through his grandfather, but the loss left a void in him. That’s probably why he became cautious about building relationships.
He was well-known in the business world. He had the same number of friends and enemies, but he didn’t care about anything. He was unpredictable with full of ups and downs.
Reaching the parking lot via the elevator, he stepped outside when a sleek black sports car sped up to him.
“You’re not only the most boring person in the world but a hell of an i***t. Weekends are for fun, not for work, man,” Lee scolded him.
He was the only one who was allowed to talk to Evan in this way. He looked at his half-Korean best friend, who was a spitting image of his father but got the tall and slim genes from his mother.
“As you can see, I hate parties and love work,” Evan said dryly.
He signaled his driver to take his laptop and got into the passenger seat of Lee’s car.
“I need to work harder on my skills so you can at least appreciate parties on the weekends,” he teased while starting the car and speeding away.
Christmas and New Year preparations were everywhere. It was the end of November and the arrival of December. The weather was icy and snow was falling. It was not snowing outside, but small piles of snow were visible in places. Lee parked his car in the packed parking lot, and Evan got out.
Evan stretched feeling the coolness of the environment after being in a warm car. Both friends quickly moved to reach the main door of the club. They showed the guards their VIP cards and they were given entry.
Glancing at the colorful environment, Lee’s eyes glinted like an excited kid getting a gift, while Evan’s expression remained stale and uninterested.
Evan headed straight to the bar, while Lee headed for the dance floor without even offering Evan to come because he knew he would straight up deny it like a boring man.
“Coke please,” he ordered.
He liked his strong but tonight he ordered a nonalcoholic drink as he knew he had to drive his friend home because he knew Lee, usually, partied hard.
The bartender smiled, nodded at his request, and placed his desired drink in front of him.
“Hello, handsome!”
A gorgeous girl sat on the stool next to Evan while he took his drink and sipped it slowly without giving a response.
“Handsome and rude. I like it!” she said haughtily while touching his arm.
She was quite drunk; otherwise, she would have been careful with Evan’s no-touching policy expression.
Evan jerked his arm and his face turned red.
“How dare you touch me without my permission!”
The girl gave a dull grin remaining silent after his insult.
Of course, Lee had finally found a girl with whom he was planning to have fun for the night.
“You are quite beautiful.”
Lee put his hand on the girl’s waist and pulled her towards him as she happily snuggled against his chest. She was an average-looking girl but she knew how to carry her look with her bold personality. Dressed in a silk white dress, she was making Lee crazy, touching and stroking him in the most awkward places. Lee was good with any girl, according to Evan.
“Nobody needs to try hard to impress you.”
“You’re also a hero, but for me, you’re the prince of my dreams,” she said in a sultry tone, placing her head on his chest and moving her hips along with the tone of the music.
“You mean we can be friends?”
Lee was happy as long as he got what he wanted.
“What are you saying? We’ve become friends,” she said shyly.
She hid her face again in his chest, and he laughed and kissed her head. Lee’s eyes turned in the direction of the bar where he saw Evan insulting some poor girl. Oh damn!
“Ah! one second, darling.”
He left the girl and went over to his best friend. He got between both of them. He then recognized that it was their old classmate, Shin-min who used to have a crush on Evan, and from the looks of it, she still did.
“What are you doing, man? Cut some slack a little,” said Lee.
Evan glared at him. His expression told him that he was indeed cutting some slack. Otherwise, he would have killed the girl with his bare hands.
“I don’t want to stay here,” Evan said sternly.
Evan walked off and out of the club in a bad mood. Lee ran after him to calm him down. Behind him, stood Shin-min with wet eyes. Evan was never going to change, Lee thought.
After he left Shin-min wiped her wet tears away.
“As of today, I will never come after you,” Shin-min shouted but no one listened to her.
