Chapter 45: Princess
Matt's POV I carefully carried a sleeping Charlie to the bed and laid her down next to me. I tucked her comforter around her to bring her some warmth and comfort. As I tried to pull away her hands they clinged to my shirt. Her voice was weak. "Please just stay." I leaned back into her and pulled her close so her head was laying on my chest. She quickly drifted back to sleep. I couldn't sleep. I just laid next to her and played with a strand of her red hair. I'm not sure how long we laid there in the quiet, but it was fully dark outside now and it had been for sometime. A light knock on her door both made us jump.
