Cyan's Pov
I have been pretending to be a slave here in the Datura pack for months now. But still, Alpha Perseus was still aloof and very snobby.
Maybe it was a bad decision to pretend to be a slave.
I guess, much better if I pretended to be a doctor or nurse or whatsoever.
Being a slave in a pack is impossible for an Alpha to like or love. I underestimate Alpha Perseus. I should have known that he was just like another Alpha, so mighty and having high standards. Aside from one fact I heard about him, he had a very cruel and sad childhood. His family doesn't love him, then they die in an ambush, and he is brokenhearted because his Luna supposedly rejected him.
If I were that girl, I would not reject or hurt him. I won't choose the fame and glamorous life over him. That girl must be out of her mind to reject Alpha Perseus. But I should thank her too. Because now that she's out of the picture, Alpha Perseus is all mine now. And I have to do everything to make him fall in love with me as soon as possible.
"What are you thinking?"
I almost jump in shock when someone speaks behind me.
I was currently cleaning the garage, and I didn't expect anyone to be here this early.
"Delta Jasper! You're up so early, huh," I said, surprised. "Good morning, by the way." I greeted him.
"Good morning, too. Are you obliged to wake up this early to clean the garage?" he asked, his brow furrowing.
"Actually, no one obliged me to do the cleaning this early. It is just that I can't return to sleep, which is why I decided to clean the Alphas' car and the garage," I explained.
"It seems that you want to impress the alpha, huh," he commented, grinning.
"Am I too obvious?" I asked.
"Hmmm... Yes. And I'm jealous," Delta Jasper responded.
"You what?" I exclaimed.
"I'm just kidding," he replied, laughing. "You should have breakfast first. You can join me for breakfast if you want," he offered. And I think it was a good idea. I can ask him anything about the Alpha.
"Sure! I will prepare breakfast for us."
We go to the kitchen together. It's too early; that's why no one else is awake aside from us. I can ask him while I prepare breakfast.
I was laughing while having breakfast with Delta Jasper when suddenly I felt a very strong aura.
And I was right that the aura came from Alpha Perseus, who was standing at the kitchen entrance.
"You're up so early, Delta Jasper," the Alpha said with his usual serious-faced expression.
"I just came from guarding the border. You asked me to go there last night, remember?" Delta Jasper said.
"So, you mean you're not sleeping yet?" I interrupted them. "Goodmorning, Alpha." I turned to him to greet him sweetly, but he just ignored me.
"I forgot that I told you that. Did he already returned to the city?" he asked his dad.
"That's strange. You have the sharpest memory," Delta Jasper's forehead creased. "It seems that you are not being your usual self, dude." He continued.
"What are you talking about?"" Are you making fun of me in front of a slave?"
My eyes widened because of what Alpha Perseus said.
Are they going to argue?
"Of course not, Alpha. I was just saying the truth. Do you have amnesia? You are the one who sent Hya back to the city, because you want to make sure of her safety. Then you told me to guard the border all night," Delta Jasper explained.
"Maybe I'm just thinking too much because of the rogues' attack," Alpha Perseus said calmly, then sighed.
"You can relax now, Alpha. We will make sure that no rogues will cross our border again." Delta Jasper yawned after saying that. "And I guess, I need to go to sleep now. Thanks for the delicious breakfast, Cyan. Johann is right. You are a good conversationalist and a very good cook." He turned to me and said that.
I couldn't help but smile. Just like Beta Johann, he is nice and kind too. How I wish Alpha Perseus was just like them.
"Thanks for the compliment, and you're welcome, Delta Jasper," I said to him sincerely.
And Delta Jasper is about to tell me something, but Alpha Perseus cuts him off.
"Just go and sleep now, Jasper," Alpha told him with a stoic expression on his face.
"Alright! I'll go now. Bye, Cyan!" Delta Jasper got up from his seat and waved at me before he left.
I waved my hand at him too, before I turned to Alpha and asked him. "You want me to prepare breakfast for you, Alpha?" I sweetly smiled at him.
"That's your duty as a slave. You don't have to ask me," he said, then took his seat.
I cant help but make a face.
"Yes, master. Your slave will make you breakfast," I said sarcastically, to prepare his breakfast.
How I wish I could put a love potion in his coffee. Instead of putting in some magic to make him believe that he was just dreaming, I kissed him in his office while he was sleeping.
But I can't do that, because there might be a side effect. Just like what happened yesterday. He continued doing the things he had to do, but because of the magic, he was not really being his usual self. That's why he forgot about the things he said and did yesterday.
And this is the reason why my mom forbids me from using witchcraft. They are afraid of the aftermath and side effects of my magic.
Perseus
"Hmmm... I really love your cooking, Cyan. I'm so full now. Thank you for the delicious breakfast!" Beta Johann said exaggeratedly, not minding my glare.
After Delta Jasper, Johann came, he joined me for breakfast, while he kept on praising the slave.
"I prepare, Marian, cooking. There's nothing special about that slave cooking," I disagreed with Johann, which made him gasp.
"You don't like the food Cyan cooks for us? But you ate almost everything she cooks for us," Johann reacted.
"Beta Johann is right, Alpha," Marriam agreed. "I guess we have to cook again for others." She added.
I looked at the table, and they were right. I have almost eaten everything.
"We ate together, Johann. For sure, you are the one who eats more than me," I reasoned, avoiding that slave gaze.
"Well, Marriam can say who eats most of the food that Cyan cooks for us," Johann said, teasing me.
"You have to be at the border to make sure that our pack is safe from intruders," I said, dismissing him.
"Fine! I've got to go. Bye, Cyan! See you later! Johann waved at her. And my inner wolf growled at him.
I really don't understand what's wrong with my inner wolf. I felt strange around him whenever this slave was around.
"Are you really done eating, Alpha? Can we clean the table now and prepare food for others?" Marriam asked me.
"Yes, I'm done. You can clean the table while I finish my coffee," I answered as I sipped from the cup of coffee.
"Alright, Alpha. Cyan, let's clean the table," Marriam turned to her.
"You can start preparing food for the others, Marriam. I can clean the table alone," the slave volunteered.
"Are you sure?" Marriam asked.
"Of course!" the slave responded cheerfully.
"Alright. I'll go to the kitchen now." Marriam bowed her head to me, then left.
And the slave started cleaning the table. When it was her turn to get the plate and utensils in front of me, I was frozen because of the very short distance between us.
And her scent!
It was very familiar to me.
