John's P.O.V

"Sir, If you would, I need you to tell me

everything your nurse told you"

"You can call me Doctor Scott, Alpha."

Doctor Scott sighs whilst removing his glasses. He then gestures us to take a seat to which we obliged. He looked as if he was he didn't know where to start.

"She is the pack slave here and is also known as 'The human punching bag'. Everyone here beats her. I have seen her around but never knew who she was until she came here. When I went to pull up her medical charts, my nurse informed me there wouldn't be any. When I asked why, she then told me who she was. Her name is Stephany. I was commanded by the Alpha and Luna to never treat her. Because I didn't know her name, I didn't know she was the same girl I was forbidden to help."

Just hearing her name gave me tingles everywhere. Her name was just as beautiful as she is. The more the doctor was telling us, the more I was beginning to lose it. I gripped the chair railing so hard that it shattered sending stuffing and shards of material the chair was made out of flying in every direction making the old doctor cover his face with his arms as a shield from getting hit. Blaze was trying to surface, He was ready to tear this entire pack to shreds. we wanted justice for her! I kept pushing him down. I noticed the doctor slightly shaking and I felt bad for scaring him so I closed my eyes, took several deep breaths and opened them once I felt that I was calm enough.

"I'm sorry Doctor Scott, I didn't mean to frighten you. I know you're telling me what you know because I asked you to. I also know you're not the one that has done this to her....at least I hope you haven't."

for his sake he better hope he hasn't.

I glared and growled at him further startling him even more.

"Goddess no! I would never do such a thing.

Alpha, I'm a doctor and it's my responsibility to care for and treat anyone seeking medical attention. As a doctor I took an oath that I would treat everyone fairly, with dignity, kindness and respect no matter their pedigree and that would apply if I wasn't a doctor. I am not built that way nor was I raised like that."

He states whilst looking at me right in the eyes and I knew he was being truthful. I sighed in relief.

"Thank you doctor Scott. Please continue."

"What about her parents? what do they do about it?"

Jack interjects. Though he has a very good point. I too would like to know that answer.

"Her parents are the betas, well former

betas now since the ceremony has probably happened by now, Claire and Tom White and and from what I'm told they do nothing to stop the abuse because they too are apart of it. They never led on they had a daughter. I just found out your mates last name from my nurse. She was kicked out of her home and forced to sleep and bathe outside. She is not allowed inside the pack house unless it's for cleaning and cooking and is not allowed to talk to anyone, though that doesn't stop her. "

I abruptly stood up from my chair and punched a gaping hole in the wall making the doctor jump from his chair and backing away from me. I'm out for blood now.

"I know you're both extremely pissed right now but you need to calm yourself down. For one, your mate is laying in the bed a foot from you. yes she is unconscious right now but still, You need to remain calm, cool and collected, and two, wolfing out is not going to help her, especially on the only one who can."

Jack mind- linked me. I knew he was right so I apologized, again, and let him finish. I promised him I wouldn't flip out again and I always keep my promises. Once the doctor noticed me calm, he sat back down and finished his story

This time it was jack who got upset and If this doctor where a human he would be having a heart attack.

Jack was stopped by the sound of my mates monitor. My heart sank to the pit of my stomach. She flat lined. The doctor rushed over to attend to her. A few nurses came rushing in. One was carrying a defibrillator while another one was pushing us out of the room. I didn't want to leave but I knew they needed to work. Right before we left I saw the doctor rip Stephany's shirt open revealing her chest making me growl angrily at him. Although she had a bra on I wanted to tear his head off his shoulder but I knew he was trying to save her. Just as I exited the room I heard him shout "CLEAR". I was pacing the hall by her door, trying to keep my s**t together. I was praying to the moon goddess to save her. After what felt like hours but was minute, the doctor came back out. I hurried towards him.

"She is stable Alpha. You can go back in there with her. I will come check on her later"

He answered me with a shaky voice before I could even ask and went to leave but I stopped him

"Thank you doctor. Do you know when she will wake up?"

"I'm sorry alpha but no. The only thing I can say about her waking up is when her wolf wakes up to heal her. Your mate is a spit fire? I'm not sure what that means because I am not hip like you youngsters but she is definitely a fighter, that girl."

I shock his hand and went into her room, Jack following close behind me. I let out a sigh and ran my hands over my face in frustration. This has been a. long f****d up day. I wanted nothing more then for her to wake up so I can get her out if here.

"Don't worry man, The doctor is right. The Luna is a fighter. She will pull through. I know we did not plan for this, but do you want me to call Kevin and have him come here so when we are ready to leave he will already be here?

"Yes, call Kevin, for you. I know that you are missing Sky. You can fill her in but no one else. I will explain when we are all home. I, however and not going to leave her. I am going to stay right here with her and hopey presence brings her some peace and comfort. Goddess knows the last time she has felt that or if she ever has. By the way, thank you for keeping Blaze and I calm whilst we were speaking with the doctor. We were both ready to commit mass murder on this entire f*****g pack."

We both laughed at that last part. We both know I would have done it.

"Ha ha ha ha, no problem. We are some strong ass mother fuckers, ESPECIALLY when it comes to those we care about and love. That's why we are considered one of the strongest packs in the world, aside from the royal pack, but we all know when you get pissed the f**k off that it's nearly impossible to calm you down or stop you and I for one will absolutely NOT stand in your way. and yes, I miss Skylar, but I will not leave you or the Luna. I will message Sky and explain without going into to much detail."

Jack really is an amazing guy and trust me when I say that he would have made a great beta.

"I appreciate that bro. Just have Kevin be on call so we can be ready to go at any moments notice. I don't care what time it is. I know it's a 6 hour drive but I don't want Kevin to be doing something else when the time comes to leave and have to wait longer then it needs to be.

"Yes Alpha."

He bows and exits the room to make the phone calls. I look back at my mate and study her. Even in the state she is in, with stitches in her head, she is the most beautiful, gorgeous creature the high heavens created. I kissed her temple and gently scooted her over on the bed. which was easy because she is so light and weighs next to nothing which is due to her being starved. I lifted and rested her head on my right arm and turned my body towards hers and held her with my left. I reached up and stroked her long blonde hair. I really hoped that even in her unconscious state she could sense me and it brings her comfort. I wrapped my hands around her waist enjoying the tingles and shocks since I couldn't before when I first found her. I nuzzled my face into the crook of her neck and inhaled. Her scent calmed me and soon enough sleep overcame me. I woke up the next morning to the sound of a door creaking open and in walks a nurse She went over to the monitor and checked the fluid bags and was writing something down. I looked around and didn't see Jack, but then I heard the toilet flush and out he came

"Good morning Alpha and gamma.

She bowed her head at us

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you guys up. I'm nurse Sally and I am here to check on your mate."

" It's alright and good morning to you as well.

I let out a yawn and stretched my body a bit.

"I needed to wake up anyway. By any chance do you have a cafeteria here that way we can get some refreshments?"

I ask the nurse as I rub the sleep out of my eyes and sit up on the bed adjusting Stephany. I was pretty hungry since I never ate last night considering what happened and I know that we could both use some coffee. I also knew that if Stephany didn't wake up anytime soon, I would have to send Jack shopping to get us some clothes and toiletries.

"Yes Alpha we do. Would you like me to place an order for the both of you and have them bring it up here?"

I thought about it for a moment and looked at Jack who made a face and it was pretty much want o was thinking and feeling as well. We decided we would go to the cafeteria. Hospital food, no matter what species you are, is nasty and the cafeteria has a better variety of foods and vending machines. I just hope it wasn't too far because I didn't want to leave my mate alone for too long.

"That is really kind of you but we will go ourselves. We really appreciate the offer. "

at least this pack has a few decent people in it.

"No problem Alpha. when you go out of the room, make a right, follow the hall all the way to the end, turn left and two rooms down you'll see the sign and the double doors. I'll see you guys later."

Once she left, Jack and I followed her instructions. It didn't take us too long to get there and luckily for us there weren't a lot of people. We got some coffee and settled on breakfast sandwiches, some orange juice, a couple bottles of water and a few snacks for later. I tried to pay the cashier but she refused to take my money, so we left but when we got back to the hospital room The door looked like it had been kicked in and a window broken. What the hell? where is she? we were only gone for ten minutes tops. I heard some yelling and followed the sounds around the corner and there was the former Alpha and Luna and the b***h ass daughter standing at the nurse's station with a few nursers who had their heads bowed. I completely forgot Jack was there when I ran. I made my way to them and growled a ferocious growl that shook the whole damn hospital. I had a feeling they were behind my missing mate. Nothing was going to stop me from finding out and getting to her.

"Where is she? How the hell did she escape?!?"

I hear Danny ask someone as I was making my way to them.

"I...I...I do...dont kn...kn...know Alpha. Sh..she wa..s...here a while a...ago."

"Well now she isn't. I want this place

searched and I want her found. Sound the

alarms.....NOW!!!

"WHERE IS SHE? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE

WITH HER?"

I roared, as I grab Sam by the throat instantly stopping the arguing that was going on. At this point it was Blaze speaking, not me.

"Excuse me? Let my daughter go this instant! who are you?

"That is none of your concern! Now tell me where she is I know your daughter and mate have done something with her.

"It is my concern, being as you have my daughter by the throat. Understand this, This is MY pack to which you are a current guest at. I will NOT tolerate such disrespect from anyone or you can take your leave. The choice is yours. Now I can assure you I haven't the faintest clue who this 'she' is you are speaking about. Now, RELEASE HER AT ONCE!

"YOU THINK I GIVE A f**k WHAT YOU SAY YO ME? I DON'T. YOUR b***h OF A DAUGHTER WAS BEATING THE f**k OUT OF MY MATE AND AHE WAS BROUGHT HERE! NOW, STEPHANY, THAT'S WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT. WHERE IS SHE?!? WHAT. THE. f**k. DID. YOU. DO?!

I growl, anger laced in my voice as I dig my claws into Sam's neck, making her whimper causing a smirk on my face.

"Daddy, help me"

"I have no clue what you're talking about but we haven't seen Stephany all day. In fact we were looking for her. We missed breakfast because of her and want her found."

For some reason I believed him. I don't know why. I have no reason to trust them, but my gut was telling me otherwise. I threw Sam at her father's feet and decided to try and follow her scent. Before I left I turned around and glared at these disgusting f**k heads and told them something which pissed them off.

" Find yourself another cook or starve. MY mate will no longer be your slave."

that being said, I took my leave. I followed her scent but unfortunately it wasn't strong and began to fade.

I have to find her. I need her. Once I have her, this pack will pay for what they've done. I took my phone and called Jack. I asked him to place a call back home to bring our best trackers. Her scent is all over me so that should help them. Please moon goddess, let me find her.

Stephany's P.O.V

I was woken up by the sound of a constant beeping. I fluttered my eyes open and saw a bright light above me. My head was throbbing and I was confused. I reached up and touched my head and felt something there. where am I? I looked around and then down at my body. I was in some sort of long green baggy gown and had wires and tubes in my body and laying in a bed. I was wondering what happened and how I got here, wherever the hell here is. I remember serving people at the ceremony and being pulled away but everything else is blank.

"Winter."

I was met with silence. I slowly started to sit up and adjust myself and winced, my body was in extreme pain. I looked around the room more thoroughly to see where I was and realized I was in some kind of doctors room. I immediately started to panic. Please don't let me be in the pack hospital. I prayed to the moon goddess. If Danny, Morgan, Sam or anyone else finds out they will kill me. I'm not even joking. They told me that everyday. Beating or no beating. I was NEVER allowed medical attention. I've got to get out of here before they find me.

"Where the hell is she? Someone told us she was brought here. Which room?"

Fuck!!

too late. As quickly and pain free as I could I hurried to my door and locked it.

"I WANT ALL ROOMS CHECKED!"

"Al..Alpha with a...al d..due respect th...this is a hos...hosp...hospital. There a...are oth...othe...other pa...patients here.

Someone I don't know said. all the voices where mumbled.

"I DON'T CARE SHE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE. NOW FIND HER"

They where getting close. I had to think fast and hurry. I heard the sound of the knob turning.

"Dad, this one is locked. Open up b***h!! We know you're in there"

Sam mocks me. Panic was setting in.

"Find me a key"

"Alpha, there is none"

"Then break it down!"

There was banging and kicking at the door. I had no time to waste. I looked for a way and saw the room had 2 tall glass windows that I could break. I sat down on the bed and frantically started removing the wires from my arms and something that was on my finger. As soon as I removed it there was this long beep so I took one of the hair ties I keep on my wrist and used it to force the thing that was on my finger open stopping the beep. I saw the monitor was hooked up to a metal rod and decided I would use that. I saw my clothes by a metal tray and changed so fast, then I took a deep inhale of a breath before grabbing the monitor. I was met with a faint smell that calmed my nerves. It was strange and it smelled good. I didn't have much time to enjoy it though. I counted to 3 and swung the monitor at the window as hard as I possibly could whilst being in an enormous amount of pain. None of the other beatings hurt because I was so used to it, but this, this was excruciating. The window cracked upon the first strike then I swung again. SMASH. It finally shattered.I pushed my way through the now broken window. Once I was outside I took off running as fast as I could, not caring if I had and shards of glass in me. I'm so sorry V I thought to myself. I will miss her. As I was approaching the edge of the pack border which luckily enough for me wasn't too far away from the pack hospital, I stopped for a moment and looked back. I'm finally leaving this place that has caused me nothing but pain to live as a rogue. No one would miss me. I turned around ready to run the rest of the way and cross over the border and live my new life, when a hand grasped my shoulder making me jump and swing, barely missing V's face.

WHAT THE f**k?

"What the hell V? you scared me."

V gasped and covered her mouth with her hands.

"Oh my moon goddess! what happened to you?"

"I don't want to talk about it and I'm in a

hurry."

"You're leaving aren't you?"

"Yes I am. I can't stay here anymore. If I'm found they will kill me. This is nothing compared to what they will do if they find me. I have to go.

I say to her whilst pointing to my head and body. V looks at me with sad tear filled eyes This was killing me.

"You are not leaving me, Stephany."

"You don't understand V, I have to."

My voice shook a little and tears brimmed my eyes as well. I love her. She is the only family I have here and the thought of leaving her behind was tearing me apart. would she even make it without me? or worse, what if they hurt her because of me. I couldn't live with myself so I needed to go so she wouldn't be caught up in my mess.but when V spoke, she shocked me.

"No, YOU don't understand. You're not leaving me, because I'm coming with you. End of story! I have been wanting to go for a long time. I have been wondering when you would be ready and we would leave. Living a life as a rogue is better than being here. Now come on before they find us."

I was taken aback that V spoke to me that way. Usually she is scared and quiet. Just as we turned to start running to the west for a mile to cross the territory line, The sounds of sirens started going off. They were looking for me. We started to run. We were almost to the border line and before we could make it over, We were met by a guard who had a gun pointed right at us. I stepped in front of V in a protective way. I didn't want her getting hurt. It was me they wanted. I saw his eyes glaze over, no doubt alerting the others of our location.

I said to V in spanish. Ever since we first met V has taught me, of course I had asked her to. We would always communicate that way because we knew very few people could understand it and we would talk about certain things that we didn't want anyone to know, and they couldn't punish us either because it's a language, luckily the guard wasn't one of those who understands. V was just about to take off running when the douche pants of a guard aimed his gun at her. That angered me.

"I have strict orders to arrest you for attacking ranked members and to bring you to the dungeons.

"Okay wanna be mall cop, It is me you want. Let her go."

"Not a f*****g chance. You're a wanted fugitive here and she is with you which makes her an accomplice. Alpha will promote me If I bring in double bitches."

The asshole smirked which furthered my anger. maybe I should be afraid that he has a gun laced with silver, though it won't kill us. It will hurt. either way I've had enough.

"Listen here d**k for brains. Unless you want me to make earrings out of your balls, you'll let us go."

I growled at him. I thought he would man handle me and restrain me but what he did shocked both myself and V. He bowed down and stepped aside.

"Y...yes ma...ma'am"

I looked back at V who had a look of shock written on her face and her eyes got so round. Not that I can blame her. What the hell just happened? We didn't really have time to talk about it. I grabbed V's hand and pulled her so we could run. We finally crossed the border line making us official rouges of this pack, or maybe we could live amongst the humans and we can go to school. Who knows, maybe this is the start of a better life.... yeah right.

After we ran for a couple hours, V spoke up.

"Can we stop please. I'm so tired and we need to talk."

She was breathing heavy and I felt bad, and truth be told I could use a rest as well. My body is aching so damn bad so I sighed and stopped.

"What the hell happened back at the pack house?

"I don't know what you're talking about V."

I honestly didn't. Yes he bowed and let us go but I don't know why. Unless you're a ranked member or a royal that doesn't happen and I'm neither.

"You commanded him. He bowed to you and when you looked back at me your eyes were purple!"

Did she say purple?

"pu..pur..purple? That's not possible. I have never heard of a wolf having purple eyes."

"Yes, Steph, they were purple."

"Well I don't know what to tell you V. I don't know what happened back there, but what I do know is we need to get going. Our break is over. We need to keep moving."

She threw her head back and whined making me mentally roll my eyes. She can be so dramatic.
